This time around, i have alot of opinions, with some that I'll most likely forget to post, so this one may be little longer for the people who read the column and actually post replies...
WWE/ECW-
~ Having Umaga lose to Cena at Royal Rumble has offically taken all creditability away from him as an "monster". Who cares that he beat Val Venis the next night on RAW... Everyone and anyone has been defeating Val Venis over the past 4 years. Their is nothing WWE can do at this point to give credit to Umaga.. Odds are he is going to be in Money in the Bank match, if they have one, at Wrestle Mania, and lose again.. Umaga will be an solid mid card talent and nothing more, or less.
~ Cena and HBK winning the Tag Team Titles... The Tag Team Titles are NOT for main event guys, i dont know how many times i have to say this. Tag Titles should be used to help push younger talent. WGTT, should be tag champs, and hopefully they win the titles after HBK/Cena turn on each other. Another issue i have with this, is the repeated storylines, that WWE cant come up with something new. 1997, HBK and Steve Austin were the same thing, as they couldnt stand each other but were tag champs. I know most people dont remember things like that, but for the few that do, its kind of aggravting seeing the same stuff, over and over again.
~ Their is going to be another December to Dismember for ECW.. Why are they announcing this nearly an year away? Maybe so that they have that long for people to buy tickets for the show. The problem with having an PPV once an year, is that for the most part, storylines cant be maintained for that time. You know what would be an good main event for December to Remember? CM Punk, RVD and Lashley in an triple threat match, which may actually happen... as you have to think that all three of the above men will be facing WWE wrestlers at One Night Stand... Who might those people be you ask?
CM Punk Vs Super Crazy Vs Tajiri Vs Rey Mistero Jr- What an contest that would be? Honestly, three guys who were great in ECW, with an man who is about to be the star of ECW, if he gets his act together,
RVD Vs Jeff Hardy- They have had some very good matches in 2001 and they could be great together at an atmosphere like NYC.
Bobby Lashley Vs JBL- Now, this could be tough, as everyone knows that JBL whether it be storyline wise or really, doesnt like ECW. Lashley, figuring he is still champ, would be great to fight JBL. And since ECW/SD are taped on the same night, have JBL sub in for Tazz one night, and have JBL repeatedly diss ECW, and Lashley take issue to that
~ The odds of this happening? I doubt all of them... but thats what i would do... Hell, i might post an Creative PPV just for an ECW ppv in the coming months,
~ Undertaker wins the Royal Rumble, and WWE is trying to act like we dont know who he is going to face at WM? Are you kidding me, its obivious that he is going to fight Batista, since the past weeks have been nothing but accidently hitting each other or what ever, the usual storylines, Who honestly bought that Taker is going to face Lashley? Didn't think so.
TNA
~ News that Samoa Joe has left ROH to just focus on TNA, and people are up in arms about this. I have few comments on this situation. First, this would be better for his health and being able to compete longer. What if he were to get injured at an ROH show? Then TNA would take everyone they have on their roster off of ROH's roster. Homicide/Daniels would both be gone. I dont blame Joe at all in leaving ROH... He has done basically everything in the company, other than Tag Team Gold, i'd guess that he wouldn't want to stay for mid card like the Tag Titles.. I respect Joe, and eveyone else should on his decision... I bet he would/will return eventually, for major storylines, or if the company becomes in serious trouble for survival.
~ Scott Steiner is going to be the secret authority for Cage... I dont believe Steiner/Angle have ever fought, so, i dont know why TNA decided to make the statement "You know him very well". Oh well, most likely the easiest way to get Steiner back on television
~ At Against All Odds, Cage should retain the title, and it most likely wont be cleanly. I'd expect Joe to possibly screw Angle over, and then Cage/Angle/Joe for the title at an later date.. with Joe winning...
WSX-
~ I watched the preview show for WSX on MTV.. and it wasnt that bad... Sure the sound affects of the crowd booing and cheering was just ridiculous, but overall an solid show. This appears to be the more hardcore/high flying type of wrestling, which i enjoy. The best thing about this, is that indy guys like Cabana/Evans/Sydal/Vamprio/Jacobs/Teddy Hart and many others are going to be on the show...
~ The only bad thing about the show was the simple fact that the ring announcer was really into announcing names and weights of wrestlers... Sounded like he was an rock star hyping up his crowd... little too much i thought.
~ Also, seeing the previews for future shows, looks like they use the expolision portion of fences little too much, but still, i'm very intersted in watching these shows.
I most likely forgot something, so when i realize what i missed, they will be in the next column...
Also in the column- I'm going to try and go through every wrestler on WWE/ECW/TNA/WSX and post my thoughts on what they should do in 2007.
Until then, peace
