Well. Here we are. In the WWE/E C Dub forum. And I wanna make a new topic. So I'm gonna drop the bomb. Picture this..
Vince is pissed off at Smackdown. He thinks it sucks balls. So he asks you: "Hey fella, I'm stripping Smackdown bare. I want you to build it from the bottom up. You can draft up to 20 singles wrestlers, 4 tag teams, 2 commentators, a ring announcer, a General Manager, and if you feel it necessary, up to 3 managers/valets/divas. Money is no object, you can recruit anyone in the world, steal from Raw, ECW and even TNA, keep SD stars, anything."
Assuming that the show is tightly produced and well booked, who would you recruit?
Here are my decisions..
Announcers: JR & Tazz (I know it works, they've worked the Rumble before and it rocked. Plus. 2 best announcers around, excluding perhaps Tenay)
Ring Announcer: Lilian Garcia. She's hot, and if necessary, can sing. Deal with it.
General Manager: Arguably the best GM in history, Mr Eric Bischoff. He'd make a great heel or face GM. Sorry Teddy, you're booted to the curb, playa.
Managers/Valets/Divas: One manager that is a necessity - Armando, Alejandro, ESSSSSSTRAAAADDDAA! (Typing his name normaly is unacceptable). He's the man right now, his schtick is great.
Melina would be another. She's hot, she makes a good manager, and she's got the primal scream thing goin' on. You're on the Smackdown ship, honey.
I'd also get Jackie Gayda back on Smackdown. Pay her a wad of cash to come aboard with hubby Charles, and help manage the team I'd give the tag straps to..
Tag Teams:The newly reunited "World's Greatest Tag Team" would be top of my list - these guys kick ass, and I'd give them the straps. Benjamin is insanely good in the ring, and Haas can go, both of them make for a better tag team. So it makes sense.
If you're having Melina, MNM is only a sensible move. I don't believe either man is ready to be a breakout star in my single division just yet. So tag them up, it rocks.
Why not throw in the Hardys? I like Matt, and as a team, they've still got the chemistry. So have them be the 3rd big name in the division.
And to fill up the numbers, and to add to the high-flying feel that could be had out of this division, I'd have Kendrick and London. They'd be the rank outsiders in my division, just always beaten at the last moment, seconds on the verge of victory themselves.

I think that's a roster that offers balance of speed, size, and all the stars are extremely talented wrestlers, in the ring, and generally, good on the mic too.
