For the first year or so, unless it has Shawn Michaels or Bret Hart, you're taking a risk watching the match. Things really change in 1997 though. I would watch the full PPV's, skipping a few matches in the first half. The second half of the year is a drop of quality (Despite having the amazing Hell in a Cell match, Badd Blood was horrible). 1998 is a mix bag entirely. The main events sometimes deliver, but other times they bomb. The midcard is typically good, but the low card is horrible. The tag team division is bad, despite the very over New Age Outlaws. I presume the set ends around 1998 or 1999 right? I've seen some people consider IYH's dead by St. Valentine's Masscare, early 1998 or even once they went three hours with Ground Zero.
Some matches I wouldn't skip:
Bret Hart vs Hakushi - 1
Razor Ramon vs Jeff Jarrett and The Roadie - 1
The Roadie vs The 1-2-3 Kid - 2
Shawn Michaels vs Jeff Jarrett - 2 (Despite being overrated)
Bret Hart vs Jean Pierre Lafite - 3
Bret Hart vs Davey Boy Smith - 5 (One of my favorite 90's matches)
Shawn Michaels vs Owen Hart - 6
Shawn Michaels vs Diesel - Good Friends, Better Enemies
Shawn Michaels vs Davey Boy Smith - Beware Of Dog
Savio Vega vs Steve Austin - Beware of Dog (I've yet to see it, but it's supposed to be insanely good)
Steve Austin vs Marc Mero - International Incident (It's been years since I've seen it, so it may not be as good as I remember)
Shawn Michaels vs Mankind - Mind Games (Personally I hate it, but most people feel it's fantastic.)
Triple H vs Steve Austin - Buried Alive
Mankind vs The Undertaker - Buried Alive (For the fun of seeing a buried alive match and the death of purple gloved Taker)
Leif Cassidy vs Flash Funk - It's Time (Way better than you'd think)
Bret Hart vs Sid - It's Time
Owen and Bulldog vs Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon - Final Four
Bret vs Austin vs Vader vs Taker - Final Four (MOTYC)
Taker vs Mankind - Revenge of the Taker (Their best match up to this point)
Bret Hart vs Austin - Revenge of the Taker
Taker vs Austin - Cold Day in Hell
Canadian Stampede (Just watch every match. The greatest PPV of all time in terms of good vs bad ratio)
Bret Hart vs The Patriot - Ground Zero
Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker - Ground Zero
Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker - Badd Blood
That takes you into 1998. Just keep in mind that up until they went three hours with Ground Zero, In Your House was meant to be nothing more than an extra boost in money and a way of holding people over until the next "Real" PPV.
