Career Highpoints:
- Great initial run on the indy scene 2002-2005 with great matches against Ki, Danielson, London and Punk
- Carried Abyss of all people to a great match
- Great 2005 run with matches against Joe and Daniels
- Post indy return still full of quality
- Best performer in TNA history?
Career Lowpoints:
- WCW run uneventful?
- A lot of average X-Division spotfests
- Often dragged down by poor booking/opposition
- Peaked already?
Angle or Styles - Who is/was the better worker?

Come on dude, how can you list AJ's WCW run as uneventful as a low point? He was a young jobber with very little experience. That's not a low point, that's getting started and getting your first big break. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I was grabbing at straws because I was honestly struggling to come up with low points for Styles and didn't want to make it come off totally one-sided.
I vote Styles and I'll give a proper response as to why later. I want to see reasons in this one other than 20 votes in the poll and four replies.

Yeah that wasn't a low point, he just got out of the Power Plant, even though he gimmick was ridiculous.
I'm going with Styles only because he has more prowess and grappling ability than people give him and probably has less lows than Angle, who either dissapoints or amazes.

After a lot of thought, I'm giving the nod to Styles. Both men have a lot of great stuff but I think if you watched a DVD of both men's greatest matches, you'd be a lot more impressed with the AJ one, the main reason being that Angle has become increasingly repetitive and in most cases if you've seen one recent Angle match, you've seen them all. He was great for a few years and has produced some great-amazing matches vs Benoit, vs Taker, vs Rock, vs Austin etc, but AJ has a hell of a lot of great matches to his name and his matches are more varied. You don't always feel like you are watching the same match every time. Also, I'd say AJ is better at carrying less talented wrestlers to good or even great matches. I doubt Kurt could do what AJ did with Abyss.
STYLES!~

Tom sums up a lot of my sentiments, Styles isn't as repetitive as Angle. I also feel he had a lot less to work with than Angle. Great matches with Austin and Taker isn't as impressive as great matches with Daniels, Abyss and even getting a good match out of Rocky Romero among others. I also think if you were to compare them year by year Styles would look better in comparison:
2000: Angle by default
2001: Angle.... both by default and by a huge margin
2002: Could go either way
2003: Styles (matches with London, Danieson and Ki top the Lesnar series imo)
2004: Angle (Don't think Styles did much in '04)
2005: Styles (matches with Joe top Angle/HBK)
2006: Styles
2007: Styles (though neither did a lot)
2008: Styles
2009: Styles
Angle is as good as done, and as long as Styles remains decent he will look better at the end of his career than Angle will.
I also think if you switch their big matches around, Styles looks better. Styles vs Austin? Styles vs Taker? Styles vs Eddie? etc. All potential awesome. Ange vs Abyss? Angle vs Chris Daniels? Not so awesome.

What did he do in the first half of the year? I thought the Edge series was weak, and I found him to be below Benoit and Rey in the big tags.
Who really excelled in the first quarter of the year? Jericho had a few good matches as did the Rock, but even then, they had bad ones. Meanwhile, AJ wasn't wrestling in any major promotions until April.
As for the second quarter of the first half, I loved the Edge series and Angle managed to get a couple of good matches out of Hogan. Pretty much the only other one besides Rocky to do so in 2002.
AJ excelled in TNA and had a few good matches in ROH, but he wasn't really a true standout. Meanwhile, Kurt Angle stole the show at so many PPV's.
Backlash - Best match with Edge
Judgment Day - Best match with Edge
Vengeance - Best match with Taker and Rock
Unforgiven - Best match with Benoit
No Mercy - Best match with Benoit vs Edge and Mysterio
He nearly had the best match at Summerslam and Survivor Series. With Benoit not coming back until July, I can't think of anyone who had as many good matches in the WWE in 2002 than Angle.
