I just got this new DVD by WWE and it is pretty good. I know it has been out for a while. but i had just recently gottent the funds to purchase a mass amount(3) new items, and this DVD is one of them. Haha.
What I likes
I really like the different people talking about WCW like Bill Watts. It was reall col to see more than the WWE "insiders" talking about the rise and fal of WCW. Of course, we saw Jericho and Malenko and a little of Rey.
What I Didnt Like
None of WCW top people work for WWE, so we had mainly some of the lower people. We had no accounts from Nash, Taped interviews with Scott Hall, Erich Bischoff's stuff was from 2003, and of course it was the lack of NWO people and WCW Management.
Did anyone else get the DVD? What did you think of it?

The DVD documentary is interesting but I wanted more "meat" to it. Tha tpart could have been 5-6 hours of actually interesting stuff. What it provided felt like an overview, not a detailed history.

i got it when it came out.
first off they had a company with long good solid history. so well over 2/3 material excluding matches. they don't really go to indepth.
dispite the benoit situation. they should mentioned the radicalz leaving and that story.
blaming it all on russo, nash and bishoff. these three didn't kill the company...aol time warner merger and aol stock droping killed it. also aol hated wrestling and wanted of it. even though nitro was drawing huge ratings jamie kellner pulled it off the air. could of mentioned that. which ultimate was one of the final nails that killed wcw.
another thing including a bit more matches on dvd considering it's history.
highlights. goldberg rise and hearing his recount. bill watts being on it about being in charge.

I have already seen it myself. I thought it was just a rehash of alot of Bischoffs book. It also legitimized his book since it verfied that he wasn't full of shit.
It was interesting but not nearly as in-depth as I would have liked.. especially concerning the nWo/Sting feud, Bret Hart's signing, and the old NWA. Decent match listing though.

Well, didnt WWE Publish Eric's book? So it is basically cnfirming WWE's story...?
And yeah they had alot of just barely touching subjecxts, but it ws very good.

I thought it was shit. A documentary that's about 50% archive footage doesn't intrest me. The Monday Night Wars DVD was barren and this DVD actually steals from it.
And WWE have put out so many DVDs over the past five years that sets like this are mostly made up of forgotten matches that are only good, at best.

The documentry is pretty poot IMO, no depth to it at all. So may points were skipped over far too quickly, some not mentioned at all. A really good documentry about the subject would have lasted about 6 hours.
