What are your thoughts on this wrestler? Its a shame he died so young, he was an incredible talent in WCW, and produced one of the best tag teams of the 90s with Austin, The Hollywood Blondes. His Loose Canon gimmick was one of the most interesting of the 90s, and in my opinion paved the way for Austin's character in a way, and Austin said Pillman's character was an influence
I would rank Brian Pillman as one of the most unsung heroes of the 90's. The guy excelled in everything he did. He has a few MOTYC's in addition to having quite possibly the best PPV opener of all time. The Loose Cannon gimmick was gold and showed that Pillman was one of the most total packages of all of wrestling at the time. If I could sum up Pillman in one word, it would be tragedy. The guy was about to get the biggest break of his career and then the accident happened. It took him a year and a half, but he was finally back on course. In a good midcard feud, getting PPV matches and segments. Once again, he was destined for big things when fate stepped in and killed him. It's really sad to see someone who worked so hard for so many years die right before getting a main event push.
As more time passes, Pillman's impact on the sport will continue to shrink in the minds of fans. How many new fans realize just how big of a star Pillman was? The War Games, Hollywood Blonds, Lyger Matches, Four Horsemen, Pillman has a gun, Stampede 10 man tag, ect. These were all huge things that most new fans most likely do not even know about.

Eh, I'd rate Pillman quite highly but the Liger match is really overated and the Blondes were nothing special as a tag team. The guy's best stuff was his stuff against the Horsemen and various short singles matches. There is a match with a pre-Raven Scotty Flamingo that is really damn good as well as an awesome match with Badstreet and a good carryjob with Zenk.

I like Pillman and I think he could've went far with the loose cannon gimmick. Pillman had a shitload of talent and he was working a great gimmick. I could've seen them do an angle where he stole the WWF title or something like that. But really the possibilities were endless with that gimmick. It's just a shame he died so young.

The Loose Cannon was a great gimmick, but he didn't have many worthy matches under it. Flyin' Brian had quality matches but he was fucking dull. I don't think the Hollwood Blondes were the high point for either member. Pillman is probably one of the most overrated wrestlers of recent years. But dying young does that.

When it comes to Pillman it depends on what part your talking about. As a wrestler he was great from his Stampede days through the Blondes gimmick. However, after that he didn't care anymore really and just wanted to stir up some shit. Which is exactly what he did.
As far as the person goes he was nothing but scum. I kno a worker who worked with him in WCW and I asked him about Pillman and he told me a story that totally turned me off to Pillman. I use to like the worker and thought he was cool but after this story he became nothing but scum. The worker told me about how after a PPV in either 90 or 91 not sure they went out to a party and were getting wasted. No problems there. Well Pillman hooked up with this girl and she wanted him no doubt about it. However, he still slipped her the date rape pill and got her totally knocked out. He took her back to the hotel and screwed her then he picked her up and just left her in the hall way for whatever to happen to her.
To me that is nothin but scum and the guy is a piece of crap if you ask me.
