I was talking to somebody on msn, and then we got into a discussion about how there are certain wrestlers out there who you can't say anything negative about, without having a majority of internet wrestling fans jumping down your throat. I'm certainly guilty of this myself, jumping to the defense of the 'golden wrestlers' if something bad is said about them.
So are there any wrestlers out there that are given a 'free pass', as in they get away with things that fans always bash other wrestlers for?
One that comes to mind for me is Sting, I love the guy, but he often gets a 'free pass', at times, more so than guys like Talker, Shawn, Eddie, etc. Whilst he isn't the Stinger he was in the 80's/90's, he can still put on a decent bout even with his limitations, and it'll come out looking good. However, I don't think i've ever seen somebody bash Sting, or at least to a notable extent, without having a ton of people jumping on them. Yet some of the same people who praise Sting to no end, bitch and moan how guys like Taker and Finlay are too old, and that's something I can't agree with it all, especially seeing as Taker has put on the best matches of his career these past few years.
Anyway, most of us defend our favorites religiously, but what wrestlers are there, who get the free pass and are excused of things that other wrestlers get bashed for, can you not say anything against without having the greater part of fans defending them?

Jeff Hardy is clearly one of them. The man has been fired from the WWE and TNA. He can't pass drug test. He did not show up to work during a period of his career. His fans clearly do not care what he does.
Jeff Hardy is not wrestler. He is a stuntman. He is one of the worst wrestlers in the ring. He should go down as the worst wrestler to become world champion.
I am glad he is gone. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
John Cena is another one. He has not done anything bad outside of the ring. However he is often criticize for his wrestling abilities. He is also the worst face of the company. HBK, The Rock, and Stone Cold were good faces of the company. Cena has sold more than them but he does not have a large loyal fan base. Cena fans often turn on him and boo him. His movies do not sale. I am not saying he is a bad face of the company. He has done a good job but the past faces of the company were better in my opinion.

Both of these guys are heavily criticised all of the fucking time...
Khali was champion FYI.

They are criticized but Jeff has his loyal group of fans that stick together.
Khali has better wrestling skills than Jeff Hardy. It's sad but true.
No he doesn't. Jeff Hardy is a good ragdoll, and at times is a very good seller. Although he isn't amazingly talented, he can at least work a decent match unlike Khali.
The thread isn't about who has a loyal group of fans. Everybody has marks who won't hear anything negative about them. This is about wrestlers who you'll get attacked for criticising on the net, because most people won't hear anything negative about them, not just a certain group. Cena and Jeff are two of the most criticised wrestlers on the internet.
Bret Hart is an obvious choice for this.

And so we contradict ourselves To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. .... Bravo RKO... Bravo sir. I do agree with Hardy. I can't stand him, at all and is a horrible wrestler and is more of a "Stuntman". As for Cena, I have mixed feelings for him. That's all im saying. Deep Cena thoughts could be displayed in the all Cena thread.

I did not contradict myself. Compared with the past faces of the company, Cena is the worst. That does not mean he has done a bad job.
Someone who has outdrawn Hulk Hogan, sold the most merchandise besides Stone Cold, has a list of awesome matches, always gets a reaction and gets the fans into the show, someone who is a good public speaker and sends a gold image to kids, etc. is bad?....
