Figured I'd start one of these. I won't be doing shows really, just mainly matches so if you have a suggestion, let me know.
Summerslam 2000 - WWF Championship - The Rock (c) vs. Kurt Angle vs. Triple H
The first thing I thought of when I watched this match was Triple H should have used the "My time" theme forever. That theme was freakin' sick.
Anyway, I liked how the start of the match featured Trips and Angle fighting due to the whole core of the angle being "Angle was messin' round with Steph." The whole table spot was great, and I really thought Angle was legit hurt. (Looked like he smashed his face pretty hard.)
When The Rock's theme hit and he came out, I realized that there will never be anything close to The Rock, so the E can stop trying with Cena. The Rock trash talking on his way to the ring = great stuff. Liked how it continued to be a brawl on the outside, and then Angle got carted off as Trips stared at Angle.
Mid match, not really much to say.. Just your average match. Rock then hit a superplex on Trips, which caused them to go to a cut scene in the back where Steph told Angle "Help Hunter for me" or something along those lines, which was a nice way to progress the Trips/Angle feud.
Angle came back out evantually and I swear to God, I thought he was gonna win after he hit Trips with the sledge hammer, but the Rock came back and ended up winning.
That wasn't all though. In the end, after the Rock walked to the back, Angle picked up a laid out Steph McMahon (Trips accidently punched her, forgot to mention that.) and carried her out. He then got half way up the ramp, looked at Trips and basically rubbed it in his face that he was walking out with his wife. One of the big pros in this match were J.R. and the King. They sold the whole love triangle very well, and the commentating alone helped progess the feud.
Overall, on the infamous star rating scale, I'd say the match was around ***. It could've been longer, and I was scratching my head at why the Rock was involved in the whole love triangle, but the match was fun and entertaining.
