So Close to the Real Thing, It's Like Being in the Ring
For anyone who ever rented a WWF Coliseum Home Video, you were almost certain to see these commercials for their action figures. They featured real wrestlers interacting while kids playing with the figures intercutting with scenes from real matches.
In my opinion, some of the best wrestling merchandise commercials ever.

Re: So Close to the Real Thing, It's Like Being in the Ring
Gawd dammit Jim, you're fixing to make me cry.
I had the ring. I had Hogan, Warrior, All Three Tag Teams, Rude, Macho King, Big Boss Man, Akeem, Roberts, Ric Martel, Perfect, Slaughter, Bret Hart, Taker, Koko. I had a shitload. I got rid of them when I moved in 2003.
Worst decision of my life.
Great memories.

I still have all of mine, albeit some with broken arms or heads. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Super glue helped that though. I had most of the early ones, but as the new ones started to come out, I got less of them. I received my first set (The ring, Hogan, Savage, Warrior, Andre, Demolition Ax and Smash, Rick Rude and Jake Roberts) for Christmas the first year it was on sale. Like most years, we had Christmas at my grandparents house. As luck will have it, I forgot the little belt there to never be seen again. I've still got a bucket load of them in my wardrobe and some of the WCW figures too.

I've been there, with the broken figures. I was really young, so when I broke my Macho King, I got really pissed.
My dad never got into wrestling, so he'd put them in sexual positions. :/
I'm tempted to go on eBay and buy these again.

Before going to eBay, head over to highspots. I believe all of theirs is still in the packaging.
Oddly enough, I foresaw the future a few times. My WCW Sid Vicious power bombed the head off of Rocker Shawn Michaels. A few years later, Sid injured Shawn's head with the three power bombs the night after Wrestlemania 11. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater.
