There are many terms spurred out both my fans on the internets and by those in the business that I'm sure we all get sick of after hearing a certain amount of times. What phrases or words used in wrestling do you hate the most?
For me, it has to be "technical wrestling" or "technical wrestler". Somehow the term has become synonimous with "good on the mat" when it actually originally started off as "having good technique", i.e. hitting your moves cleanly. You look at the Wrestling Observer awards and some of the guys who have won the Best Technical Wrestler Award were never actually good on the mat: DiBiase, Masa Saito, Liger, Takada, etc. Great wrestlers sure but not particularly good on the mat. "Technical wrestling" is the sort of term marks like to coin when talking up Kurt Angle because he has a submission finisher and throws a lot of suplexes despite his matches being slightly less repetiive and formulaic than Hulk Hogan's, or coined out when people praise Michaels because he does a trite chain wrestling sequence whenever he needs to kayfabe outwrestle someone, despite a 17 year old Mark Briscoe being able to do a better sequence. Most people who use "technical wrestling" or "pure wrestling ability" tend to be marks who buy into the commentators telling you HHH is a great wrestler becuase he does a basic hammerlock>headlock sequence. People who use these terms tend to be the type who thinks anyone who uses a submission or a suplex is a great wrestler and that anyone who doesn't is terrible, despite the fact "pure wrestling ability" holds no ground at all in what is essentially a worked fight. Usually if I see someone use the phrase too much I just assume they have no idea what they are talking about.
"Workrate" is another one that I hate seeing, both as a positive and as negative.
Great technical wrestling would definitely be high on my list too. I also hate "technical wrestling" when it's used as a negative, for example people saying a guy is good, but he isn't good technically. To me being a good wrestler is about putting on good matches, so I don't see how somebody can put on good matches yet technically not be a good wrestler. It's just, like you say, people assuming that wrestlers are better if they wrestle a certain style. Everytime I see Benjamin described as a great "pure wrestler", while people say Cena doesn't have "technical ability", it makes me shake my head.
Another one is people who differentiate between "sports entertainment" and "wrestling" in every thread. For example: "Im a wrestling fan, not a sports entertainment fan" and even worse "Cena is a good sports entertainer, but not a good wrestler". I imagine this is again linked to the idea of "technical wrestling", but it seems pretty laughable to me to suggest that someone isnt a good wrestler when he puts on good matches and gets the crowd into the match.
It's also annoying when people talk as if wrestling hasn't been "sports entertainment" for very long...

I agree with what Steve and Tommy both said. You have to know your limits with "technical wrestling" as well as "pure". I've never seen nothing pure about Shelton or a nmber of guys in the WWE. Well done gentlemen.
Let me just add one more:
I don't like it when fans throw around "the total package" or "the best" or "amazing". That definition can only go so far with a certain professional wrestler, because whether you notice or not, just about every pro wrestler has a weakness. Hell, as much as I love Jericho, I can point out a flaw about him. And it really sparks unneeded debate about whose underrated and whose overrated and it turns into a whining contest.
I'll have to think of a couple more.

X-Pac Heat - This has become a term used to describe heels that aren't "cool" or "funny." Basically if a heel is doing his job and is hated instead of looking like a bad ass and making jokes people say they're getting "X-Pac Heat" regardless of how over they are.
Charisma - A lot of people seem to think charisma is just another word for "mic skills." Very frustrating.
Overrated - To a lot of people, if something is popular it's overrated.
It may not relate to a specific term, but I hate when people like all of the heels and hate all of the faces, stating that they know the "ins and outs" of the business, and that they're "smarter than the marks". Basically to these people, who have no reasoning/facts other than their so called "intelligence", if you like to watch a face, you're a dumbass.

X-Pac heat means the fans pretty much hate the person regardless of whether they are heel or face. It started as a term when X-Pac was being booed during the Invasion storyline despite the fact that he was supposed to be a face at the time. It's also called go-away heat. The Rock started getting this a few months after his debut, Cena started getting this a few months after he won the WWE Championship, etc. It has nothing to do with the person being a heel or a face.
I hate when announcers say "self-proclaimed" before a nickname (or even worse was when Benjamin and Haas were referred to as "The Self-Proclaimed World's Greatest Tag Team").
