People That Weren't Pushed That Left You Scratching Your Head
With the recent release of The Brian Kendrick and the past release of guys like Burke, I figured this thread would be appropriate.
When have guys been on a roster and just not pushed to their potential? I don't mean someone like AJ Styles who is booked poorly but as a top guy/has been a top guy, I mean more so for someone like Burke or Kendrick who showed star power and maybe even got a start before getting it pulled out from under them.
Surely we all have people that we could see should be pushed but the bookers are just too slow to realize it.

RVD, around 2002-2003. He was insanely over, comparable to what Hardy is today, and he was stuck with silly mid card feuds. He eventually was pushed, but we all know how that ended up..

Re: People That Weren't Pushed That Left You Scratching Your Head
Elijah Burke is definitely one that fits into this. Burke, I thought, had some good mic skills and I thought he was fantastic in the ring. It's a real shame that he wasn't ever on Smackdown to have a chance to get the United States Championship. Burke showed tremendous star power and really had potential. Burke should have won atleast a mid-card belt but sadly, it never happened. His biggest matches were against Batista but he got squashed both times and didn't get much offense in at all, if I remember correctly.
I'm just confused at how the WWE couldn't recognize his potential and use him correctly.
It's a real shame that Burke didn't get the treatment he deserved in WWE. I do not have faith that TNA will treat him any better since they don't even have a mid-card belt in the first place...

He debuted on Smackdown but was a manager for Sylvester Terkay. I will make a case that Terkay vs. Angle would have been huge especially since they had amatuer history.

Yeah and who's fault was that?
I believe Ken is more referring to lower guys who had talent and charisma but for some reason were never been treated as a big deal. Didn't even get much TV time, never held any serious titles etc. RVD was WWE and ECW Champion simultaneously. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. Burke and Kendrick are probably the two best examples of this. They wern't gonna be main eventers, but both could have been good midcarders and could have been midcard champions. I don't really understand why either man wasn't pushed, besides the short Smackdown run for Kendrick of course.
Jamie Noble would be another one. He is a road agent in WWE, but he has never been pushed as an a wrestler as much as he should have been. He was Cruiser champ years ago of course, but now he is barely used, despite being talented, charismatic, and over. He has a fun gimmick and has been involved in some decent low midcard feuds, but they never make him a big part of their programming over an extended period. It's confusing really.

Re: People That Weren't Pushed That Left You Scratching Your Head
Yeah, Noble is a very confusing case. The guy has amazing wrestling abilities, just watch his stuff in ROH against Danielson and whatnot. Great matches with great wrestling involved. Gibson was a ROH Champion and I'm just surprised/confused that WWE hasn't openly recognized his ability and potential to push him at all. He should be on Smackdown right now having feuds with people like Ziggler, Mysterio and whatnot. He'd be a great Intercontinental Champion I think and it just really needs to happen.
Noble is someone I've wanted to see break out in the WWE for a very long time now. Huge shame that it hasn't happened yet and it doesn't look too bright in the future for that either. Noble for Intercontinental Champion!

Re: People That Weren't Pushed That Left You Scratching Your Head
The thing that bothers me most about Noble is.. he is over. He's a guy who even if left off TV for months tends to get a decent pop for someone in his spot. Hell, in the Rumble during his Palumbo feud he was really over. Add in charismatic, great in the ring, etc. the guy would be a total package if 5 inches taller.

Re: People That Weren't Pushed That Left You Scratching Your Head
Yeah, Noble is a very charismatic individual. I just wish that Vince would drop his fetish for bigger guys and give someone who's smaller like Noble a bone and let him go out there to showcase his ability weekly. I guess Vince has dropped it to some degree by giving Punk the belt and whatnot. What brand is Noble on anyways? Raw? If he's on Raw, then there's the problem. I think that if he moved to Smackdown, Michael Hayes would no doubt use him quite often and possibly want to put the belt on him. Lately, I've only seen that Noble has been wrestling a bunch of dark matches and when he is on TV, he's being jobbed out. Really big shame it is.

Re: People That Weren't Pushed That Left You Scratching Your Head
That'd be great to see Noble on ECW. You know he'd be used there quite often and possibly eventually could get a run with the belt. Alot of good talent there he could have some feuds/matches with. I'd love to see a Christian/Noble feud, that'd be gold I think.
I totally forgot about Yang, guess I thought he was released already. I mentioned Smackdown because it seems like nowadays it revolves more around wrestling than storylines, atleast not as much as Raw and with alot of younger guys getting big pushes like Morrison, Ziggler and whatnot, just seems like with all that going on, he could get a good push.
