Wrestling has seem some historical moments. Some are good, some are bad. Legacies have been created, moments have been debated, and championships have been vacated. From Ric Flair and The Four Horsemen to Ric Flair and the Evolution. From Pat Patterson to CM Punk. From Jim Crockett to Eric Bischoff. The historical moments of professional wrestling have morphed the entertainment form into what it is today: a global phenomenon.
The history books cannot be re-written, but, countless debate has sprung up between wrestling fans. "I wish so-and-so main evented" or "I wish this concept was created"
Every two days or just one day (depending on how this works), I will post a "What If?" topic. Please dicuss detailed events, situations, storylines, or anything else you feel support the problem. Tell how it would affect the Wrestling world, why or why is should not have happened, and add any other input you find neccessary.

Owen would have won the Intercontinental Title that night as The Blue Blazer and probably gone on to feud with Jeff Jarrett. I'm not sure how long his contract had left on it but I think once it ended he would have probably left WWF to join Bret in WCW and then either retired or semi-retired once they folded.

Owen didn't jump to WCW due to problems in his contract. If he were to, he would pay a lot of money.
I think Owen would have won the Intercontinental Championship, but it would have been a short reign. Owen was getting put down. At that time, I beleive he "quit" the WWE. Just kayfabe. Owen would have lost the IC Title as Blue Blazer, keep losing as Blazer. Dissapear after a while, and come back as Owen Hart.
If there wasn't a dispute between the Hart Family and McMahon at the time, Owen wouldn't be in this situation. I'm not pointing fingers or claiming fault. I'm just saying he wouldn't be doing Blue Blazer.
If he was still alive, I'd think he'd be great in a non-wrestling role. He'd probably be a commentator right now, or a general manager.

The Blue Blazer was due to his refusal to act in a 'love triangle' storyline with Jarrett and Debra, and the reason he donned the mask was that he wanted to distance himself away from the WWF's edgy product. I think he would have probably stayed as The Blazer until his contract ran out to be honest, it has been reported many times that Owen was a very family orientated man and that some of the angles the WWF were doing at the time disturbed him somewhat. I honestly don't think he would still be in the business if he was still around, already at the age of 34 he was saving for an early retirement so ten year's down the line I would have thought he would be long gone.

I don't think he wanted to wrestle after his contract expired. I think he just wanted to spend time with his fmaily.
I respect his decisions for doing the Blue Blazer. I guess I'm just irked because he should have been a tad more in main eventing at that time, and also, a one or two time WWF Champion.

Pretty much exactly it. Owen didn't have much more time on his contract. Assuming Bret wouldn't have been hurt at Starrcade (Which by all means Owen living might of changed all that), Owen could of easily been brought into WCW. Just working for a couple of years (Lets assume WCW would of survived longer and had more money control in 2000) would give Owen enough money to feel comfortable enough to retire. I know he wanted to do other things with his life.

Exactly. Owen never really felt the loyalty to McMahon the way Bret did. I can easily see him jumping to WCW for big money when his WWF contract ran out. I'm sure WCW would have misused him horribly, just like Bret, but Owen would have smiled all the way to the bank.
Owen could have been a survivor-someone who could have walked away from the wrestling business and not looked back. In a lot of ways, he was similar to Brody-wrestling was a means to an end. It was all about putting food on the table for his family.

Meaner than a rattlesnake, tougher than shoe leather, more dangerous than a hollowed-eyed scorpion, middle-aged and crazy, crazy like a fox.
It would've been a transitional reign. Perfect wasn't a strong enough heel to carry a promotion for a significant ammount of time.
It would've been a bad thing for him legacy wise, I think anyway. People regard him as one, if not the, best wrestler to never hold a world title. People look back more fondly on wrestlers if they feel they were undervalued.
There was no reason for Curt Henning to ever be a world champion.

Mr. Perfect/Curt Hennig held a world title. The AWA World Championship, a title Hogan himself never won. If I were to book the storyline, I would run with that angle. Have Hennig talk about how he has done the one thing that Hogan has never done and that is being remembered in the history books as the World Champion in two different companies. Since it's the 80's, Hogan's Japan title reigns are still relatively unknown to most fans and he hasn't won the WCW Championship. As for who he'd feud against? I'll get back to you on that one.
