This man was WCW's version Mr. Kennedy. He was mostly kept on the low card but had plenty of TV time. He had good mic skills and pretty good wrestling skills. Believe it or not this man had a bigger fan reaction than most WCW wrestlers who were not in the main event. He even won best gimmick of 1995. This man should have atleast been push up to mid level status. I have never seen a wrestler with such fan reaction not be pushed to be anything. He could have been WCW's version of HBK.

He kinda was. He Main Evented at least two matches in TNA. One a Battle Royal that he won, and the second his resulting title match. Granted he was Glen Gilbetti at this time and not Disco.

Absolutely not. The guy was never over. It was his gimmick that was over. It's one of the most common misconceptions of the 90's. The fans heard the music and they danced. However, very few people actually cared once the bell rang. He was easily in the bottom half as far as ring talent goes and was never taken serious. Disco is best compared to someone such as Santino Marella. He was a joke wrestler and nothing else. I can remember watching his Jeff Jarrett NWA World Title match from the week before the One Anniversary Show and actually cheering for Jarrett. Had Disco won, I wouldn't have bothered to pay TNA ten dollars for another episode until he lost the belt. To have him be the leader of any company that had the likes of Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels or Raven is a joke.

This is by far the worst opinion ever. Sorry. Disco was nothing more than a gimmick wrestler. He was the Koko B Ware or Animal Steele of the nineties. He was put into the WCW with a gimmick people though would enjoy. Enjoy. Nothing more. Not love. He was a sub par wrestler with a bad gimmick. Even though the credibility of WCW was decaying beofre it's very own eyes, Disco would have make it sink to its early demise.

How can a gimmick be bad if people enjoy it? This guy was getting much better fan reactions than most of non main eventers in the NWO and all of WCW. I have plenty of people react to him in matches as well.
You obviously missed the word "thought" before enjoy.
Glen Gilberti tried so hard to rise above it, and his lackluster career after ditching the Disco gimmick basically put the nail in the coffin. He said "people are going to look past Disco and look at Glen". But he had no energy and no charisma and would get squashed. He had what little of draw he could putting up a horrible effort in Disco Inferno.

Re: Should have been a Main Eventer: Disco Inferno
I know Glenn. We've exchanged many a PM over the years. Mostly about me deleating his posts because they were shit.
He would tell you that you all that you're wrong. He should've been a main event star. But it was hard to break through with that pesky n.W.o. ''B'' team in his way.
