Alright, I'm very new here, and I feel like a complete dick doing this. However, certain people (I'm looking right at you, Bon) swear there's a demand for it.
I started watching WWWF in 1973, and I've seen a few things.
If anyone has questions-God knows why-I'll try my best to answer 'em.
At the very least, I'll try to make up something entertaining.

I've heard that Andre was a lot more impressive in the ring back in the 70s, when he was more mobile and would actually chain wrestle and such. How did the early Andre compare to what we say from the early 80s on?
People love asking questions. I still don't know why my Ask Jim thread became so popular that there were 4 editions of it.
From talking to Bon Jr, it seems as if you still watch indy wrestling. However, how do you feel about the changes to mainstream wrestling from when you began watching?
What is one thing you could change about present day pro wrestling?
Only one thing? I'd make the titles mean something again. Ultimately, any wrestler's goal should be one thing-to win the championship. If you're not trying to win the belt, what reason would you have for putting on tights, getting in the ring, and getting beaten up every week?
Too many belts that ultimately mean very little. The days of multi-year title reigns are a thing of the past, and that makes me a little sad. I know, realistically, nobody's going to have a run like Bruno did from '63-'71, but it would be nice to see a champion (and I'm pretty much talking WWE here) hold a belt for more than a month at a time.

Andre, even in his youth, would never have been mistaken for Steamboat. With that said, the Andre people saw in the 80's was a shadow of what he once was. The occasional dropkick wasn't out of the question for the big man. The same could be said for mat wrestling-Andre could hold his own.
The best run for Andre was, in my opinion, certainly the early days in the 70's. He was physically in much better shape, much much more mobile, and here's the key-he was a Special Attraction. He'd go from territory to territory, work for a week or 2, and he was gone.
Seeing a giant once in a while was a thing of wonder-seeing him on your TV every week (and seeing the pain he was in) took the wonder away.
