For the time, I would of still picked Bret Hart over Steve Austin. While I was becoming more of an Austin fan than their previous PPV match, it wasn't until Austin's attacks on Hart on Raw that made me care more about Austin that Hart.

I thought wwf.com first showed up in 95'? Aw well.

EDIT: According to the internet wayback machine, it was around as far back as June of 97', so who knows.

I can't remember who I was behind at the time. I'd like to think it was Bret Hart. After all I'd been watching him for years and he was a face up until that match.

But I suspect I would be behind Austin. Bret Hart was starting to become a whiner and Austin wasn't a type of character I'd seen before. If you exclude drunk people on the street.
