View Poll Results: Which wrestling DVD porduction style do you prefer?
Just curious which style people prefer. I much prefer the documentary style. With YouTube and similar sites, I can always go back and see a classic match. Documentaries give you access to the real person on a personal level. The actual human being and not the wrestling persona.
I buy DVDs for the matches... don't really care for Docs as much because more often than not (especially with WWE DVDs) you probably aren't getting the real person. I enjoy the wrestlers talking about their thoughts on the matches and their significance, though. I went with combination of both.
This isn't 1998, just having a documentary is incredibly lame. However, this isn't 1989 either, we should have a video of more than just matches. Unless it's a combination, it's a huge strike against the DVD. The matches is the most important part though.
Combination, without a shadow of a doubt. Some of the newer WWE compliations have had a few thoughs between matches as opposed to a dedicated documentary and have suffered for it.
Great sets like the Flair collections and Bret Hart have a great documentaries in addition to a wide range of matches
It depends, I like the combo if it is mostly documentary (like 75%). I HATE the DVD's that are only "Best of" (like The Rock's DVD). The only time I can accept a Best of DVD is if the person has already gotten a documentary DVD before (like Mick Foley and Hulk Hogan).
I just hate that with certain wrestlers we won't get a real documentary because it would ruin their character (like The Undertaker and Kane).
