Wall bash Wrestling's Biggest Shockers!

Ok, this thread is rather simple. I want to know times in your life, to where a wrestling match or segment captivated your mind. To the point, where you sat back and watched and thought to yourself....wow they or that really got me.

Ok I will go first...back in 2005 I was so SHOCKED to see a picture of Bret Hart shaking hands with Vince McMahon on the wwe website. That was when we found out that Bret was going to finally get a DVD. Around that time, Shawn Michaels made a heel turn, agaisnt huge fan-favorite Hulk Hogan. I remember the epic in ring segment that he did in Montreal that year in 2005. By far I have never heard as much heat for any wrestler...as much as I did that night. Michaels basically ripped into the crowd, and mocked the whole Survivor Series 97 incident. During the segment Michaels basically mocked Bret and even called him out. Then out of nowhere Bret's music hits and the crowd goes completely fucking insane! I am not going to lie..although I should of seen it coming...I jumped out of my seat and ran straight to my tv screen. Michaels did such a great job playing it off to! But as it shouldn't of came to a surprise, Bret didn't appear! That was a moment that I will never forget, and a moment to where WWE truelly fooled me. Hell even at Summerslam that year, they got me a bit. The whole crowd chanting 'We Want Bret" during a point in the match, I just expected the music to hit again...but it didn't happen.

Another time recently was Michaels vs Taker. I seen it live, and although I expected Taker to win...there was times in the match where I wasn't sure. When HBK kicked out of the first Tombstone I was literally shocked. LOL I was jumping up and counting 1......2........and then the kick out put me in shock! I strongly praise HBK and Taker for the match they produced at WM25.

Anyways...what are some of the times...to where a wrestling match or segment...really locked you into the point where you didn't know what was going to happen next?

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

Honestly, the first one that comes to mind is Goldberg beating Hogan for the World Heavyweight Championship on Nitro in Atlanta. At the time, Goldberg was being pushed to the moon, and was already wearing the US Championship belt. The nWo had been portrayed as the most powerful force the wrestling world had ever seen. I thought, no, I KNEW Goldberg was being built up as a raging monster to be fed to the nWo. Then, Goldberg hoisted Hogan up in the Jackhammer and was pinned for three.

I. Marked. The. Fuck. Out.

Shawn Michael's return to beat the holy hell out of Randy Orton.

Biggest markout moment ever for me.

Yes, I have a GIF of two women kissing.
Yes, it's hot. Yes it's Megan Fox kissing another woman from Jennifer's Body. Yes, it's hot... owait, I already said that. Yes, I'm aware this makes me sound like a total lesbian. But this scene? UNF.

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

One of the biggest Mindfucks or shockers I guess that I really ever went through as a wrestling fan was when the Undertaker went through his own buried alive/embalming phase with SCSA. Even as like 9-10 years old, I was still freaked out at that age about the whole thing.

lol'd.

The last time I was really shocked by something was when Matt Hardy returned after the whole love triangle nonsense. Shit was big. Everyone was pretty much convinced that Matt had signed with TNA.. and then we all got swerved to the fuck. I think I still have that RAW on tape.. quality stuff.

That was a great promo, Think I was going through a not liking wrestling so much phase and missed that, I would have marked the same when Bret's music hit to be honest.

When I was only 11, I'm putting this down to being young but I got really gripped on the Invasion angle and I thought WWE was going to be no more, obviously that is a silly thought and it was obvious who was going to win now but back then my naivety made me fall for the whole thing.

I only really cheer for Undertaker at Wrestlemania now really, well I cheered when Randy punted Trips for the title to be fair.

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

FlashBack... it was so perfectly set man. As I said I shouldn't of been fooled but I was indeed. It just seemed...hmm...maybe Bret is on good terms with WWE now...my mind was manipulated indeed! I have to put that segment over as one of the best heel segments I have ever seen indeed.

Jasmine...Michaels returing and confronting Orton, was a mark out moment for me..but not my biggest. It was just one of those things that came out of nowhere and the crowd ate it up.

Brain...oh man the Goldberg title win was surely a mark out moment. It was like we were watching Nitro...but in a WrestleMania like enviroment! It was epic, probally my favortie WCW moment.

Mrs. Teddy...I almost forgot about that. Yeah I defintanly didn't see Matt coming back to WWE. He was on such a huge rant against them...and so upset. And when he first showed up..it got me at first. I was like wow is this legit or kayfabe? Good stuff!

yankeesman77...man attitude era was full of surprises! The one shocker that I always will hate but never forget is when Taker sacarfised Midion. I remember he cut his wrist and made him drink his blood...that was a shocker...but god I hated that!

Another mark out moment for me was Hogan returning at WrestleMania 21 to take out Muhammad Hassan and Davari! Great WrestleMania moment there for me.

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

When Punk won the WHC I marked like a little girl. I marked so freaking hard. It was beautiful.

Orton's title win over Benoit way back when was great. I wasn't fully "in the know" and loved Orton so much back then and when he pulled off that last RKO I leaped out of my chair. Greatness.

When Undertaker beat Sid at Mania I remember kneeling on the bed and doing the Undertaker knee/belt pose. >.>

Return of the Deadman 04.

HBK/UT was phenomenal and I was marking all the way through.

Jericho's return was great even if others find it underwhelming.

More and more... tried to keep it mostly recent stuff though.

Well, I got one that hasn't been said.

John Cena's return at the Royal Rumble was epic! Everyone thought he was going to be out of the game so much longer.
