Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

I think the biggest mindfuck to me was when I was a kid in 1997 and they first introdcued the Hell in the Cell. As a kid, I was just stunned by the structure, and the the amount of violence from Undertaker and Shawn Mcihaels was breathtaking

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

One moment that stands out to me from when I was younger was the end of UT/Bossman Hell in a Cell. At the time I didn't care about MATCH QUALITY~! and I liked the feud so was interested and loved the Undertaker so... but then when the Brood came down from the rafters and they hanged Bossman I was thinking to myself "holy shit!". Was so crazy. What's worse is that I cheered it.

Another Undertaker memory is when he was supposed to be arrested for I THINK stalking the McMahon family and was in the arena, put out his hands, and pyro went off. Now you may call that cheesy but as a kid who loved the Undertaker I thought it was awesome.

Kane's debut had me so angry. The ass attacking Undertaker

. Then later on when Kane was surrounded by 5-8 guys and Undertaker showed up and HELPED him. It was epic. Then Kane had to set him on fire in the casket

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

The biggest two for me were: Triple H joining Austin and McMahon in beating the shit out of the Rock in the steel cage the night after Wrestlemania. Looking back it probably was more obvious than 12 year old Steve thought, but man I hated Trips, but then he came out to save Rock and I was like OMG HHH I LOVE YOU.... then he cracked Rock in the face and I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, etc. The other one was ECW joining the invasion. Never saw that one coming even though they laid out lots of hints.

Yeah there was...

As soon as Cena got in the ring and it was clear it was yet another Cena show, people booed.
I was marking out like a little bitch, so I guess I don't remember that.

Were you a big Undertaker fan as a kid then Ken?

I have to agree with the Bossman hanging though. I loved that moment way back when.

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

Ken props for The Undertaker shocks. I felt the same way...I got so upset when Kane set the casket on fire. LOL and the Inferno match...at the time I had to be like 11 or 12...so naturally I was afraid that someone was going to really go up in flames.

I got a shock...Goldberg vs Lesnar. I was so hyped for that match...me and my friends (Who watched at the time) would always compare the two. And the shock was that it was defintanly one of the worst matches that I have ever seen. Arguebly one of the worst WrestleMania matches I have ever seen. It was so shocking, that I felt embarrased watching that one.

Damn, good call. As crazy as Foley is, I don't think anyone was expecting that, even when he climbed to the top of the cage before the match even started. JR screaming, "OH MY GAWD, THEY'VE KILLED 'EEM!" just added to the mindfuck, imo.

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

Also, I think when David Arquette won the World Heavyweight Championship was a mindfuck, but just in the bad way.

Plus, stable forming is sometimes a mind fuck. Like Evolution, looking back at it, was kind of a mind fuck. And if you look at it now, those guys put on a short, but elite stable. nWo was a mind fuck before the confusion started.

Kurt Angle getting signed to TNA is also a mind fuck. Everyone thought Goldburg was coming to TNA. Kurt said he wanted a break. That was good stuff, and possibly the most emotion I've seen from the impact zone.

Re: Wrestling's Biggest Mindfucks!

It's real, it's damn real.

Undertaker's return in 2000 was amazing. The end of the Ironman match the Deadman shows up on a fucking motorcycle but still dark and just clears house. Was probably my favorite moment for a long time.

Also helped along after Foley feel through the roof and King just said; "Yep, he's dead".
