Afew months ago on Yahoo Answers, I asked which wrestlers they thought should come out of retirement, I got alot of responses and the number one name that came up was Dean Malenko (suprisingly, second was Steve Blackman).
Now, I must say I have to agree with them, I mean look how succesful average sized good North American wrestlers like Chris & Eddie did late in their careers (ignoring their deaths). Also Lance Storm, he occasionally wrestles if the moneys right.
I think he must still have alot to offer, he's only in his 40's, look how many good wrestling years Finlay missed out on as a road agent, I think WWE could even put the big strap on him, if they've put it on the likes of Chris, Eddie & Rey, why not him?
So what do you think, should this man make a return to the ring?
He probably retired for good reason (im guessing health related). Plus he has been out of the ring for a long time. And if he came back and wasnt as good as before it wouldnt be worth it

Malenko was great, but unless it was like Storm's match in ROH, no one will really care. He's still with the WWE, and not really any of the current audience would care much.

Yes bring him out of retirement. He can be the real life Randy Ram and fight in shitty school gyms against other old farts who dont know when to hang it up. I think it would be complete jokes, I'd pay to see two old farts wrestle in matches they never would have considered in their prime.
Your serious answer is no. He is old and I doubt his style of wrestling would connect with the younger generation of fans, that is if he went to a major televised promotion.
I'm not going to be as quick as others to say no. It all just depends on whether or not Malenko can still go in the ring. Malenko was easily one of the better wrestlers of the entire decade in the 90's. There's a reason why PWI named him the best wrestler of 1997. It sure as hell isn't because he was booked as the top guy in the country. With the exception of RVD (Who was still booked in the main event), Malenko is the only wrestler in the history of the PWI 500 that grabbed the top spot without being a World Champion during the year. If he can get back in the ring and be as good as Finlay was when he returned, I would love to see him return. However, if he's noticeably a step behind from where he once was, I'd rather he not ruin the legacy he's left for his fans.
It is a shame he never had a proper farewell. Unless you were a member of the IWC at the time, you didn't know he retired. It just seemed as if one day the WWE stopped booking him. I can remember there being a lot of talk about a possible Chris Benoit vs Malenko match at one of the first two One Night Stands, but it never materialized.
I'd love to see the WWE devote a two/three disc DVD to Malenko's career. The guy can easily fill up a couple of discs with quality matches.
