Hey everyone, with WrestleMania gone and Backlash just around the corner (one of my personal favourite ppvs of the year by the way as one of my first ppvs I ever saw was Backlash 2001 and have them all on dvd.lol) I was just wondering what your favourite Backlash match and event of all time was? I would have posted a poll with this but considering how unsuccessful my TNA lockdown one was I'd thought I'd pass.lol. Anyway your thoughts please wrestling fanatics?
Overall I'm not a big lover of Backlash to be honest. It seems that most of the matches are rematches/continuation of feuds from Mania.
My favourite matches however come from the same year, 2004. Cactus Jack vs. Randy Orton in a no holds barred match, and Chris Benoit vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels in a Triple threat World Championship match.

I can definately understand why some may not be a big as a fan of this event than I am. I can't fault you on your match selections they were both awesome. I didn't expect that out of Foley to be honest as I'm sure no one really did. I think you'll struggle to find a better hardcore match that the wwe as had since.
Cactus Jack vs Randy Orton would be on the top of my list. Like many others I did not expect that match to be as good as it was. Being a Foley fan myself. I was really, really impressed by his work. I didn't think he still had it in him.

Forgive me for going off topic for a second mate. Do you think Foley is capable of pulling of another suprise at Lockdown and pulling out another good match considering how out of shape he may be?
I've always had a soft spot for Backlash for some reason and quite honestly I have no real reason behind it.
One of my only real memories of it though is a Cruiserweight title match between Dean Malenko and Scotty Too Hotty. I was furious with the finish because back then I didn't care about ringwork, I was all about characters, so Dean Malenko going over made me so angry. It's one of those memories from my casual fan days that always makes me smile. It's such an innocent time, where dancing to bad hip-hop and having a fat Samoan friend made you a better wrestler than Dean fucking Malenko... Sometimes I miss those days.
