Who do you think are among the best hardcore wrestlers of all time? These could be wrestlers who are famous pretty much exclusively for their matches in hardcore environments, but they can also be wrestlers who are not famous for hardcore, but just happen to be very good whenever they get the chance to compete in this sort of match.
Some of the names which are going to come up will be obvious, but hopefully some people have got some suggestions which may not be the first thing you think of.
Also, what do you think makes a great hardcore wrestler? Is it ''easier'' to have a great hardcore match than it is to have a great singles match without a hardcore gimmick?

Stan Hansen - The Man practically made the Lariat and his hard style and stiff style along with Brody created a new style and a style that is most commonly seen by The Necro Butcher of today. Lets not forget though that this guy could wrestle his ass off in the 70's and Hansen's ability to take in pain and endure it all was an amazing sight to see.
Abdullah The Butcher - This man embodied and practically made the trm Hardcore almost common knowledge. By using the Forks to stab his opponents to consistently getting cut and having huge matches in the 70's this man is an icon in the business not just because of his size but because of how brutal his matches really could be. He was also pretty gifted for what he was able to do inside the ring given his size.

Yeah that guy was a maniac really. But he was dangerous as hell. Probably would kill someone if they crossed him the wrong way. Actually wait didn't he actually kill someone in the ring?

i dont think you can even consider New Jack a hardcore wrestler. All he would do, is jump off balconys and get one dollar bills stapled to his head or to his opponent. Which hurts, but even for hardcore wrestling, i dont think that qualifies.
Funk, Foley, Raven, Sandman, and Corino come to mind for me.
They were hardcore, and in some cases could put in some actual wrestling moves. Something, New Jack never really did.
