It seems everyone thinks that WWE is gay. People automatically think "Hey this is gay! Two guys fighting in tights?" I don't like it when people say it's gay without even watching it or even reading about it. What do you guys think?
Because it's predetermined. Or as they say "fixed", "rigged", "fake" or "bent".
It's not just that. It is just not very credible as an entertainment form to most people, and I can see why. If you're looking at wrestling from the outside, it does look pretty ridiculous.

Peeople look at ballet and see a bunch of people dancing in tights and nothing else. They cant grasp the story being told and the reasoning behind the movements. People could look at wrestling in a simple form much like ballet. " Its just a bunch of oiled up guys groping eachother for two hours." Their eyes decieve them when they watch. They dont have a knowledge of any storylines, going on. Therefore, they cant grasp the emotion behind the match or thr stmosphere. To them its just softcore gay porn.
They arent actors, who describes them as actors? They are sports entertainers. They use combat competition sport to entertain the fans. The talking is just hype for a fight. Much like Blow Job Penn called GSP a cheater in their last fight to hype up their next fight.

The angles often take priority over the wrestling. In WWE at least they are actors as much as they are anything else. They are portraying a character.

I see why people just assume it's fake because it is scripted but the superstars still sacrifice their bodies. They aren't totally unscathed after a match.

I would agree with you on that. I watch wrestling more for the characters then the actual wrestling most of the time. I enjoy when they are on the microphone, depending who it is, almost more than when they're in the ring.
I always like watching CM Punk on the microphone and I think sometimes he makes his matches more interesting just by talking about them before hand. The way he delvers it all makes you believe that he really is living his dream and doing it because he loves it. It gives you an emotional attachment to the character.
