Another random thread idea I mariculously came up with, that could help members get to know more about other members' opinions. Each week I will pick some random subjects and you just give a breif summing up on your thoughts on them.
- The Undertaker
My favourite wrestler as a fan. Deserving of all the money and rewards he get's in the WWE because of his loyalty & sacrifices to the company. Great worker, you can put him with anyone and he'll carry them, often works on through injuries.
- Roderick Strong vs Erick Stevens fued
Don't know anything about it.
- Rob Van Dam
Very good wrestler up until about 2001/2, especially his ECW run. He lost his will to perform and was just doing it for the money by that point I think. Out of the ring cool and calm but at the same time a little bit messed up, of course we can put that down to the ring
- Head drops
Dangerous. The reason why the Benoit family is dead and why Dynamite is in a wheelchair. Harley Race regrets ever doing the head butt. Jay Lethal STOP IT!!
- Shoot interviews
Part of the down period of the business for sure, because of the blatant disregard for kayfabe but hypocritically I love them, so interesting to hear stories and how the biz works. They're especially interesting if the people being interviewed have had full lives and illustrious careers e.g. Terry Funk, Tracy Smothers, Bruno Sanmartino, etc. I don't give a toss what Ernest Miller & Vampiro have to say.
- Young Rey Mysterio
Oh man, early memories for when I first watched wrestling for me, Filthy Animals, yeah, they were awesome, WCW wouldn't've been the same without him.
- Ring Of Honor
Good idea to begin with, promoting wrestling and all but i'm unimpressed with the direction they took it, that might have something to do with those obnoxious fans though, it's basically American indy guys doing long, drawn out matches in a fancy setting all for the IWC of course.
- Teddy Hart
Bit of a tw*t, some of them Harts are though, terrible how he turned out as a 'wrestler' and a perhaps even as a person, he can't work, Stu is surely spinning in his grave.
- L.A.X
They were hot a couple of years ago when they started, good idea with all them Spanish speaking folk in Orlando, sure fire way to get a response from the crowd.
- Shane McMahon
I love shane, one of my favs of that family, they're all entertaining, Shane always has fun out there, he's so energetic, and those bumps he several years ago, WOW. By right he should inherit the WWE, being the eldest son for goodness sakes, but I fear Trips will/has sneak(ed) his way in there and done Shane an injustice.
- The Undertaker
One of the best wrestlers ever. Took a fairly crappy gimmick and turned it into something great, and has had great matches against a lot of different types of wrestler. Can work various styles and has until recently remained fairly fresh for the entirety of his career. He can make wrestlers look great even in defeat too, something many wrestlers such as Triple H tend to fail at.
- Roderick Strong vs Erick Stevens fued
Didn't see any of it.
- Rob Van Dam
Overrated by some who talk about him like one of the best ever, but judging by his WWE stuff (I have limited knowledge of his ECW work) he was a highly entertaining wrestler who probably should have been pushed more. He was so over when he debuted, and I can't help but feel that WWE didn't capitalise on that. He is one of those guys I always loved to watch. Sure he had a lot of fun flashy moves but he was much more than that, and the moves were actually impressive.
- Head drops
When I see them in Japan I can't believe more people don't get seriously hurt. WWE seem to have severely limited the amount of head drop moves because they are so dangerous, and can have disastrous consequences if not executed properly....unless you're japanese, in which case you'll be fine.
- Shoot interviews
They can be quite entertaining to watch if you want to know more about the behind the scenes stuff and how wrestlers are in real life, but I personally don't take much of an interest in them. I like the Joe/Punk one though.
- Young Rey Mysterio
I guess you mean pre-WWE? I never saw him. Maybe I should get the DVD.
- Ring Of Honor
Well it contains a lot of great wrestling and I like to check out random matches, but I am not a big enough wrestling fan to keep up to date with it. I prefer the sports entertainment aspect of wrestling. No doubt ROH produces a lot of extremely talented wrestlers though.
- Teddy Hart
Not seen much of him, but he seems pretty spotty and also has a bad attitude from what I can tell.
- L.A.X
When they were heels I thought they were the best team in mainstream wrestling. They have become very stale as faces and there is nothing to distinguish them from any other team now. I guess that is pretty much the general consensus. Also I hate when they are involved in those typical TNA spotfests with the same moves all the time such as Hernandes' dive.
- Shane McMahon
A great entertainer. He has had some very good matches considering his lack of ability, and I love his willingness to perform big spots to entertain the fans. Angle vs Shane is a great match for example, and then there are other memorable Shane matches and spots which I always loved seeing. He is incredibly charismatic too, so I would love to see him in a permenant role as an authority figure on RAW. Basically he is hugely entertaining and I want to see him on TV.

Hold up, HBK does the same nip up, elbow drop, & Superkick for over 15 years and he is a great wrestler. Hernandez does a dive and suddenly he gets shit on for doing the same moves over and over? Honestly, some of reasoning behind these opinions are so mind blowing, I want to cry.
Steve, I'll fill out the list when I have time, sorry.
I am not referring to just that move, I am referring to when they have a multi-man match and the whole setup of a few guys hitting their moves and then Hernandez running up and diving onto all of them.

- The Undertaker
An absolute legend of the business, definitely top 3 in my favourite ever wrestlers. The fact that in over 15 years he has not dropped charachter (unless you count his American Badass days :P) is a testament to the man. Will also put anyone over which again is a testament to the guy.
- Roderick Strong vs Erick Stevens fued
Don't know anything about it.
- Rob Van Dam
I am a fan of RVD but I was a fan of ECW which may be the reason for it. Some of his matches with the likes of Sabu were highly entertaining. I liked his WWE days also.
- Head drops
Dangerous and for the most part unnecessary.
- Shoot interviews
I enjoy hearing wrestlers story and the backstage part of the company they are nice insights to the business.
- Young Rey Mysterio
Some of the moves he would pull in ECW the Lucha Libre division was excellent. WCW days 'filthy animals' and the 'LWO' were pretty damn good aswell some of his matches with Eddie spring to mind as being awesome.
- Ring Of Honor
Never really watched it apart from some famous matches such as Kenta Kobashi vs Samoa Joe and Samoa Joe vs CM Punk series.
- Teddy Hart
From what I hear he is a knob, had all the talent to be a good performer in the ring and has blown it.
- L.A.X
I enjoyed them when I watched TNA Homicide and Hernandez had awesome chemistry. Actually one of the plus points of the TNA brand. Couldn't tell you if their still a team though.
- Shane McMahon
Shane O' Mac is pretty damn good on the mic has no fear when it comes to his matches which I respect him for... His leap from the titantron onto Big Show I think it was, was awesome. His Coast to Coast at Mania against Vince was epic although RVD done it first. His whole match with Kurt Angle was off the chain.
The Undertaker People just love to classify Shawn Michaels as "the man". A true legend and the ultimate performer on the bigger stage. These are valid arguments, but no one has been more valuable to the WWE in their career than the Undertaker. Top 5 all time...no arguments. He is the only wrestler besides Shawn who has been with the company through their darkest days and their highest heights (early/mid 90's----late 90's-02) Shawn's immaturity, arrogance, selfishness from those periods, particularly the former is legendary. All Taker ever did was show up and perform at a high level when the company was floundering. To this day I think he is the only wrestler who could stand up to Triple H and not be fired over it. As a performer I thought his ministry of darkness days were his best. I remember nearly pissing my pants during one of their entrances while attending.
- Roderick Strong vs Erick Stevens feud Never heard of this. - Rob Van Dam I have downloaded ALOT of his ECW days. Just incredible... I always found him dull while he was in the WWE, particularly his later days. Regardless he was still underutilized if you ask me. You know whhho I'm hinting at. - Head dropsI cringed every time Benoit did them and I've heard stories from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><ST1 To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. lace></st1:country-region> that make me queasy. I think they are totally unnecessary and outright dangerous to attempt. - Shoot interviews The holy grail of insiders. How can you NOT, as a "insider" or smark, like hearing directly from the wrestlers about insider related subjects? I just can't pick a favorite. - Young Rey Mysterio I'll never forget nearly breaking my back trying some of his moves as a marky 8 year old. He did something to me that I'll never be able to experience again; he made me excited due to his wrestling and nothing but it. - Ring Of Honor This is the 00's answer to ECW. I have a great deal of respect for the 2nd to none workrate that it's performers do. I'm just to much of a mainstream guy though. I must have a good storyline with intriguing characters which I think ROH doesn't provide enough of. - Teddy Hart At times a complete dochebag, but I really never followed him. - L.A.X I think the world of wrestling needs more edgy tag teams like this. One of the better tag teams of the last 8 years for sure, but that really isn't saying much... - Shane McMahon<!-- google_ad_section_end --> The best "McMahon" character after Vince and it isn't even close. I think it's time for him and the rest of the McMahon’s to retire as TV characters....for ever.
Esquire I like the idea but why can't you give us your thoughts as well?
Esquire I like the idea but why can't you give us your thoughts as well?
Give him a chance....
But maybe pick less obscure/more general things than the Strong/Stevens feud seeing as nobody seems to know about it. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

- The Undertaker
Someone needs to tell the guys you're meant to get worse with age. Younger years seem like nothing special, but that could be said for 90% of WWF workers at that time. Got good around late '90s - early 00's but then became somewhat stellar 2002 before dropping again for a year or so before returning to form. Could easily be argued as the best wrestler in the company for several years now. Knows how to work a smart big match, knows how to carry lesser workers, good brawler, good submission/mat wrestlers, etc. When you see an 40+ year old guy above 6'' running around the ring like a Dragon Gate wrestler and doing suicide topes, you know you're watching some spectacular.
- Roderick Strong vs Erick Stevens fued Arguably fued of the year for 2007. Booking was pretty up and down at points and some of the matches were underwhelming but you certainly got the feeling of two guys just wanting to beat the other to a pulp. Erick Stevens should have gone over. Ironically their best match wasn't technically a "match".
- Rob Van Dam
Overated and underated. Sure, he's overly flashly and kinda spotty but people often overlook his good chain wrestling ability, good striking and a GREAT selling. I can recall a few matches that were literally made good by his selling.
- Head drops Good when used in moderation. Can really add drama to a match if sold well. Dangerous of course, but that is the wrestler's discretion.
- Shoot interviews Don't care for them much, though the Corino one had me rolling around in laughter.
- Young Rey Mysterio Arguably one of the best high-flyers ever. Great seller, great moveset. The guy sort of got better with age but you can tell right from the start the guy was a natural.
- Ring Of Honor They have maybe the single most annoying fanbase ever and over the last couple of years have become somewhat overated. That said, I'd still rank them above 90% of other companies and always seem to produce a high amount of great matches every year. No longer the miracle company they were in '04-'06, now somewhat of your average wrestling company.
- Teddy Hart
Overated spotmonkey who the IWC love to gush over because he can do a 360-moonsult-shooting star flip-rana. Total bum who'd rather work in front of a few hundred guys doing moonsults with his buddy Evans than actually doing something with his career. The guy has potential to be good but until he gets his head out of his ass he'll jut be another indy flipper.
- L.A.X Back in 2006(?) they were the most badass team on the planet, their fued with Styles/Angel ruled in many ways. These days they are so stale as faces. The only thing that seperates them from every other generic face team is that they are latino. Homicide hasn't done much for me since leaving ROH, but Hernandez is definately above average for a big man and very agile and a good brawler.
- Shane McMahon Can be carried to a good match but is mostly just a bump machine with loads of charisma. Good on-screen persona.
You lot are seriously missing out on the Strong/Stevens feud. It was arguably the top feud of last year, definitely top in ROH. There wasn't much of a storyline other than practically killing each other with every match and the violence escalating higher and higher until their final match.
The match quality certainly made it worth seeing.
