What do you think is the best royal rumble match ever. I souly mean the rumble match, not the undercard, but just the specific match.
*Please note- This should not be moved to PPV section as it is nothing to do with the Rumble PPV but the match itself, a seperate issue that falls to the wwe section of the postes.
You're right it shouldn't, but it should be moved to General/Classic wrestling, and it will be. This section is for discussion concerning the current WWE product.
And the best Rumble match ever was undoubtedly 2001 from what I have seen. I am not claiming to have seen every single Rumble, but 2001 had everything you could ask from a Rumble match. A ton of surprises (Drew Carrey, Haku, Big Show, Honky Tonk Man etc), an interference with Triple H beating the hell out of Austin, an epic staredown between Rock and Austin serving as a prelude to their Wrestlemania showdown, Kane being dominant, the question of whether him and Taker were together... it was all just so exciting.

In terms of star power and commentary: The 1992 Royal Rumble
In terms of the biggest mark-out: The 1991 Royal Rumble
In terms of emotion and storytelling: The 2004 Royal Rumble
1990 was the most star studded Royal Rumble (No matter what the WWE tries claiming the most recent one is every year), it set up several matches for Wrestlemania 6, had the epic first time meeting between Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior, and never had a dull moment.
1990 has somehow became the forgotten Rumble with the insanely popular one occurring just two years later.

'92 because not only was the match good, but i thought the commentary was really entertaining with Heenan being behind flair the way he was. Monsoon and Heenan were the best imo.
2001 was great too with Stone Cold being back at 100% at the time and the stuff with him and the Rock was cool.
My favourite rumble all together was 2000, but for the rumble itself, probabally 1992, Flair ftw.

And when there is no hope,
"I'll smoke some crack, I'll shoot some dope!"
When theres no enemies,
"I sit and stare at my T.V.
and in my ignorance,
I'll be a slave and sycophant!"
I have only seen the 1991, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Rumbles. Out of all of those, I'd say the 2004 was the best. I say this because the storytelling was right, the action was great, and it ended with Chris Benoit getting what he had worked so hard for and deserved. It is the best Rumble match I have seen.
Have to Base My Opinion On the Rumbles i have seen from start to finish which are 2001 - 2009 & out of all of those i would have to say 2001 is the best. It Just had everything and was highly entertaining. 2004 was a good one as well
