wcw WCW different matches

i go over some old tapes and stuf on youtube and other related sources and i cant help to find how different the WCW was to the WWF/WWE. the way they had rivalrys was even different, but the matches were just incredible, for one example the triple cage match, DDP vs david arquette vs jeff jarrett.

Incredible? I admit, I didn't watch WCW in thge last couple of years of its existance...but anytime you book an actor as your world champion the opposite of incredible is bound to happen in matches.

I am a mark for WCW during most of the 1990s though.

Agreed.

David Arquette as WCW Champion was terrible. The triple cage match is a good concept but the match itself with DDP,Jarret and Arquette was bad. Like I said, the concept is good.

Re: WCW different matches

Gotta agree with you guys here. Arquette sucked but the concept was good. Instead of arquette it should of had somebody like bret hart or someone with actual credibilty to actually participate in a match. But actually i think booker t would of been the best choice for the match

Its because in 2001-2003 he was at the top of his game. Booker will never be as good as he was back in those years but he is still an excellent wrestler and can carry a match extrmely well.

Re: WCW different matches

The old three hour Nitros used to have a consistantly excellent first couple of hours, showcasing an excellent midcard and upper mid card roster.

Turn off when the main event guys were on though.

The period you're talking about though, after Russo got there (and for a while before) I would ignore. Lot's of guys busting their asses in gimmick matches all over the programming who got no reward for these efforts.
