Let's hug it out bitch.
| For their sake, wrestling needs an offseason Too many wrestlers get addicted to pain killers due to the constant travels. Too many wrestlers wrestle through dibilatiting injuries for a PPV payday. Too many wrestlers die young. Why not an offseason? Shit, even if Vince didnt want to stop touring 365, how unreasonable is it that each wrestler gets 4 months off a year? Lock these guys into long term contracts, so they arent unsecure about their place in the company as well. If Vince wanted to not stop touring year round he could spread out wrestlers off seasons so that they dont all take place at the same time or even near each other. This would also add to long term storylines and cliffhangers "It was me, Rock" - Rikishi as well as much needed pops upon wrestlers returns. It would also prevent any 1 wrestler from dominating at the top of the main event and title scene for too long. Yes, Vince should have hired me like 10 years ago. | |

| Re: For their sake, wrestling needs an offseason Or cut down on the house shows? TNA do a lot less house shows & get a lot less injures. ROH do less again & get even less injuries. Its not hard to see where the injuries are coming from. ![]() | |||||||||||||||

| Re: For their sake, wrestling needs an offseason Wrestling itself doesnt need an off season, just the wrestlers themselves, give the wreslers a couple of weeks off 3 or 4 times a year, not all at the same time. Most people wouldnt even notice that most of the guys are away. I also agree with my TNA buddie God, the wrestler shouldnt be wrestling more than 4 times a week. Another thing they should do is cut back on gimmick matches and sick Jeff Hardy style bumps, a steel cage or ladder match back in day would feel special, nowadays it just feels like just another match, which also takes a few more months of the wrestlers career. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: For their sake, wrestling needs an offseason I think it's a great idea, but you don't even have to stop appearing on television really. They could certainly give a guy a break for a couple weeks and feature him in a non-wrestling role. Guys like Jericho or Santino could do their programs like the Highlight Reel and At the movies, and others could just cut a promo or maybe accompany someone to the ring. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: For their sake, wrestling needs an offseason WHy not a revolving off season. When Raw is off, Smackdown is on etc. I like the idea of the rotating talent time off. Everyone heals up but the show continues. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: For their sake, wrestling needs an offseason I don't think you could switch when brands are off and on, because they have tv deals with the networks. I do believe that having a rotating schedule for each superstar would be a good idea. Like: Triple H has June-August off, Santino gets March-May off, etc. The only problem I see with having scattered off-schedules would be some people would be exempt from large PPV's like Summerslam, Royal Rumble, and Wrestlemania. And like I said above, you couldn't just give everyone the same time off during slower periods like during the summer, because USA Network and WWE have a commitment to show RAW. Besides, Vince wouldn't want to have a lull where he isn't getting any money in from those shows. I wonder how much money they really make from House shows? Like, a risk vs. reward type of study could be done. Traveling during the middle of the week/on the weekend for all those superstars..is it really worth it? Sure, as fans we might get pissed if the house show frequency goes down or erases altogether, but..in the end if it means guys don't get worn down and the injury list shrinks, it may be better in the long run. In the end, I think it's a sticky situation, but I like the idea of giving superstars two or three months off. | |||||||||||||||

| Re: For their sake, wrestling needs an offseason I think that house shows are important for more than just the money they bring in, though. I'm not an expert, since I've never been to one, but I thought that generally at house shows, wrestlers fought with the people they were feuding with, so they could try out spots, and work things out in preparation for the PPV pay-off. I always saw house shows as a dress rehersal that the audience get to watch, so losing that would probably hinder match quality. | |||||||||||||||
