Being rated does not go fully on talent, it goes on popularity aswell, and Warrior was extremily popular, and you do not want to call me stupid, I Mod this forum which shows a damn lot of knowledge, so, shut it n00b.

I can see his point though guys. If you are looking at wrestling skills then nobody would say that Warrior is overated, but if you are talking about popularity etc., then you certainly can. It was never really clear what we are judging them by. As far as the flaming goes, come on guys, keep it in the hate boards. (ps Dave, pulling the I'm a mod and your not card is a low blow man, thought you were better than that.) I think you should all hug and make up

I would say that 90% of the time in a wrestling discussion about who's overrated/underrated, it's usually in regards to popularity. "Overrate" is a generic term which kinda sums up a wrestler as a whole. Yes, Goldberg is overrated because he was pushed to the moon but had no wrestling skills. He had an explosive fan base in his prime, but was obviously worthless. So, to the smarks you could say "Wow, he's so overrated" because of his popularity. That's usually the discussion, more so the popularity in comparison to the actual wrestling skills. But you could have a whole discussion on wrestling ability in which case, someone like Flair is overrated, because most consider him to be an excellent wrestler, when in reality, he has very few moves. Jake took the definition of "overrated" to the very literal extreme, pretty much out of context of this discussion. Also, keep the flaming to the Hate Board, I won't warn anyone again, especially staff.

I look at people for their skills, saying people like Shelton Bejamin and C.M Punk are underrated is idiotic and wrong. The majority of people who are on wrestling forums all know those two guys are good talents. People like John Cena and Goldberge and Warrior are not overrated. They ARE Overpushed or were overpushed in Goldberg and Warrior's situation. But when WWE wrestlers thrash people on their skills they aren't overrated. I honestly haven't gone on one wrestling forum where I guy says wow Warrior was a great wrestle in his day, it just doesn't happen. I do however hear quite alot that hes a fucktard and that he sucks big time. I've honestly even on Warrior's dvd never heard anyone say anything positive about the guy so he isn't overrated.

Well in all fairness it was the self-destruction of the ultimate warrior... don't think you are going to get too many positives out of that. Yeah he didn't have a lot to offer as far as wrestling goes, but he did entertain and he was well liked in his tome and you can't argue that. Goldberg progressively got better as his career went along and he learned more submission maneuvers and you can't deny that he has skill or athleticism. He wasn't a polished technical wrestler by any means, but he can stack up against a lot of powerhouses out there. I mean take Kevin Nash, did he do anything much bigger or better than Goldberg maneuver wise, no, but he is still respected and no one would typically say he is over rated. As far as saying Shelton is under rated in the eyes of most people and the masses, he is very under rated. The guy is an amazing talent and has the skills to back it up, just lacks a little charisma and it is getting better. In a few years if he continues to get better there watch for him to go for one of the major titles. SO if in your opinion I"m idiotic for saying that he under utilized, under pushed, misused, basically underrated, then you can keep your opinion, but I'm pretty sure that the majority of us will agree that he is not where he could or even should be, which would mean UNDERRATED.

The best way to decide if people are under/over-rated is probably to look at what people have achieved for the talent they have. The other thing that should be taken into account is how people from an outside perspective rate the person. Now, Shelton is obviously a very talented individual but his lack of charisma at the moment is holding him back from main-eventing. And I know many hold him in high regard...But I wouldn't say he is over-rated and I also wouldn't really say he is under-rated. For his talents I think he's done pretty well but in a few years if he's improved, in the departments he needs improvement, (and I hope he has) yet he still hasn't made it to the main event then I would say he is indefinitely under-rated.

Jako, you seemingly only take internet fans into account. Internet fans are only a few small minority. Just because CM Punk is rated highly by internet fans does not mean he can't be under-rated. For the talent the guy has, he's done basically nothing on any sortof major scene. So I would say he probably is under-rated at the moment.

Goldberg/Warrior were obviously over-rated at one time by the staff/creative team that pushed. Jako...You can say they were over-pushed, but they were only pushed because they were rated highly...Surely meaning they were over-rated.

And...Yea...That's about that then.

Peace Sells...But Who's Buying!?

I don't want to continue to argue, but I just don't see Warrior being overrated. The guy had no talent and everyone knew that, but for some reason he connected with the crowd. Most of the people who actually enjoy wrestling, and really enjoy don't think Warrior is good. I mean if I said Scoot Steiner was overrated would that be accurate? I don't think so, because there are bery few people who think the guy has any talent.

Scott Steiner has quite a bit of talent. Look at some of his older WCW stuff before his size really constricted him. He actually wrestled amateurly in college. He has talent and knws what to do. I think the way you are looking at the situation is diffrerent. You are saying he is hasn't got wrestling talent which I agree... but he did have pull with the fans and I don't think he really deserved to have it. That's whY i think he is overated based on a popularity stand point, not on in ring skill.

um yeah I forgot to mention this awhile back but the top starter says people who are overrated and underrated by the IWC ( internet wrestling community) and smarks in general, so saying Goldberg, Warrior, Cena and those like are overrated byt the IWC and the smarks is just plain moronic and wrong.
