Year End Awards 2011

(Ok, not every Award has been decided yet, but half of them have. One by one I will post them here. Most likely one a day. The credit for the banners go to CAPS LOCK.)

Top Rope Observer is the number one wrestling publication in the World. These are their Annual Year End Awards.

The TRO Award for Best Show of the Year goes to:



This was when High Voltage was still part of CWA. This show took place from the beautiful city of Atlanta, Giorgia and it featured the best in Tag Team Wrestling. A Tag Team Title Match took place, as well as two Ranking Matches. The new team of S.B.S. defeated the team of Hade McKenzie and Jay Walters. For those who don't know, S.B.S. was formed by Jimmy Sanchez and current number 1 contender for the PnH World Title, Surge.

Also, a three way Tag Team match to declare the number 1 contenders to the Titles took place in Atlanta, as Snake Eyes faced the Patriotic Foundation and the New World Revolution. The new team of Frankie Enzo and Peter Jacobs fought like a well oiled machine and picked up the victory . Not long after, Snake Eyes went on to win the World Tag Team Titles from A Mouthful of Awesome.

Speaking of AMOA, they were also in action here, as they defended their Titles against the tough team of the Sunshine State's Finest. On this day Dave Hunter and Koran proved to the World that they were a force to reckon with, as they defeated the champs by count out. Just like Snake Eyes, the Sunshine State's Finest went on to win the Titles later in the year.

Two single matches also took place, as rookie Matthew Summer defeated Canadian, Petey Williamson and in the Main Event of the evening, NovaKain, with the help of Kyle Crosby defeated arch enemy, Grande.

Without a doubt this was the Best Show of the Year, that also featured Roberto and Kyle Crosby in commentary. Congrats to all involved.

The TRO Award for Tag Team of the Year goes to:



No one would have ever imagined that Snake Eyes would become such a great tag team. Peter Jacobs and Frankie Enzo couldn't be any more different if they tried, and many people thought they wouldn't last as a team. But Snake Eyes proved everyone wrong and proved that inside that ring, no tag team could touch them. They beat everyone, from the Sunshine State's Finest, to the Johnson Brothers, to perhaps the greatest tag team of our time, A Mouthful of Awesome.

At Vendetta Axl Storm and Jackson Sonik beat them for the Titles, but they fought their way back and today they are the champs again...well, sort of; Snake Eyes has now a new member in Nero James, after Peter Jacobs was ambushed prior to the Tag Team Title match and could not compete. The master of the Kendo Stick stepped up to the plate and took his place.

We don't know what the future holds for the new Snake Eyes, but if they can perform half as good as the original Snake Eyes, then they will be fine.

Congrats to Peter Jacobs and "Sexy" Frankie Enzo on this prestigious award.

The TRO Award for Most Hated of the Year goes to:



There have been a lot of great villains this year in wrestling. From Rolando Fuentes, to Kyle Crosby, to the ruthless Snake Eyes, but in the end it was NovaKain who got the nod.

The Phoenix, Arizona native was conninving, deciving and down right despicable. NovaKain made the lives of Mr. Willis, Grande and more recently, Mr. Showtime a living hell. He did whatever it took to get the job done and he wasn't afraid of getting his hands dirty.

And we doubt NovaKain's reign of terror is over, as his main goal is to win the World Championship,and until he does so, no one in Pride n' Honour is safe.

The TRO Award for Woman of the Year goes to:



She's only been in CWA for a little over a year now, but in that time Ashley Adams has proven that she is the most dominant woman in her respective division.

From having battles and feuds with the likes of Lyssa, Elke, and most recently Alexis, to today where she's the reigning and defending CWA Women's Champion. Her most memorable feud this year was with Alexis where she successfully defended her title against the former woman champion, and by winning the match she also took Alexis' career away from her.

She also took a protege under her wing by the name of Ashley La Bella, and hired her own personal bodyguard in Ama-Zon. Together, they formed the group known as The Sorority Sisters.

She has been Women's Champion for the majority of the year, and she has no plans in letting it go anytime soon.

Congratulations to Ashley on her marvelous year.

After hearing the news of winning Top Rope Observer's award for Woman of the Year, Ashley Adams had some words to express how overjoyed she is to have won such a prestigious award.

Ashley Adams: As if there was any doubt as to who would win this award, no one else had a chance because they're lacking one significant quality, and that's that they're not me.

She clutches onto her award as she says those words.

Ashley Adams: This year I did what exactly I said that I'd do. I became the most dominant female that this company has ever seen, and I did it by taking out all of the other competition.

She takes out a folder and removes some photos, the first of which is Elke.

Ashley Adams: Elke? It's very unlikely that we'll be seeing her anytime soon after what Ama-Zon did to her.

Next photo is of Lyssa

Ashley Adams: Lyssa? The woman I defeated to win my championship, and the last time she was seen she was on the receiving end of my boot on her lips. I'm sure the very reason she hasn't been around since then is because she's so humiliated that she doesn't want to show her face.

The next one is Sophie

Ashely Adams: Sophie? Please, you really think they give such a prestigious award to a hideous redhead?

The next one is Mz Kay.

Ashely Adams: I don't even know who this is.

Finally, the last photo is of Alexis, and she calls in Alexis herself to hold onto to photo. Alexis is followed by Ashley La Bella and Ama-Zon, who forces her to hold the photo. She turns in her chair to look at Alexis and the photo.

Ashley Adams: Last but certainly least, Alexis. Dear, dear Alexis. How the mighty have fallen. At one time you were in the same position as I was as the most dominant female this company has ever seen. This company needed a change from the current female dominator, and I made sure to make that change and I made sure that it was me. The fine people at the Top Rope Observer took notice in that, and they awarded me for my dominance. Now I sit here with my championship around my waist, and this award in my hands, while you have nothing Alexis

An evil smirk has grown on her face as the camera fades.

The TRO Award for Rookie of the Year goes to:



There have been several breakout newcomers in professional wrestling this year, but none have made quite the impact as this year's winner of the Rookie of the Year.

To put it bluntly, Surge has been a force of nature since arriving to High Voltage. Originally part of the tag team SBS with Jimmy Sanchez, Surge would start to show his dominance as a singles competitor after qualifying for the Ruler of the Ring Tournament. And one after another, Surge earned victory over victory against former champions and long-standing members of High Voltage's roster, including Jackson Sonik in a very well-received match at Hostile Takeover. After rejoining forces with longtime friend and rival Cyrus Truth, Surge would continue his path of destruction for months, with little to no stumbles. Surge's run would culminate in his crowning achievement...defeating Chubby Carlos and winning the Ruler of the Ring Tournament in rather impressive fashion.

Surge may have been overlooked due to Jimmy Van's decision to split from the Clique Wrestling Alliance and form Pride N' Honor, but Surge would continue to rack up victory after victory and force High Voltage General Manager Orlando Maxwell's hand. Now, Surge is scheduled to get his World Title Shot at No Remorse when he takes on Mr. Showtime, a title shot many experts believe is overdue.

We here at Top Rope Observer congratulate Surge on being named our Rookie of the Year...and if his first year is any indication of the future, it may not be long until we see the man known as "King Slaughter" reign as Pride N' Honor World Heavyweight Champion.

The TRO Award for Comeback of the year goes to:



This Award could only go to one man, the one and only, Roberto Superstar. He made his triumphant return at Meltdown in the Royal Rumble match. The surprise appearance sent the crowd in attendance into a frenzy, as no one was expecting it. He entered the match at number 25 and after eliminating 6 people, he went on to win the Rumble and the right to go to Five Star Attraction and face the World Champion, Rolando Fuentes.

Our congratulations go to Roberto, who sure knows how to make a comeback.

The TRO Award for Most Popular of the Year goes to:



It doesn't matter if they are heels or faces, the Brotherhood always has their fair share of followers. This year more so than ever it seems. All it takes is for the Guardian Devil to look into the crowd and the fans go into a frenzy. It also didn't hurt the fact that they were successful in winning the World Tag Team Titles this year. Kenneth Leblanc has since left the group and gone awol, but it doesn't matter, the real heart and soul of the Brotherhood has always been the G Devil. Now together with Kyle Crosby, the Brotherhood looks more unstoppable than ever and more popular as well. 2012 is going to be another great year for the coolest stable in wrestling today.

Congrats to the Brotherhood in winning this prestigious award.

The TRO Award for Performance of the Year goes to:



It's been a roller coaster year for the mat technician from Austin, Texas, but it was all worth it, as he was able to end 2011 in great style. DDD, as he is known in the wrestling world, stepped in to the ring at Five Star Attraction a huge underdog against Harry Jones, but with a brilliant performance he was able to pull off the upset and win the match and in the process win the X-Fly Championship as well.

There is no doubt this is only the first of many brilliant performances from Dexter Darwin Douglas.
