Right now, without getting into details, there's been a lot of talk in the staff room about the overall state of WS. Some thinks that it's not as fun as it used to be because it's so serious. Others feel as if going back to how we were would be a mistake.
This is mainly for the regular members, not the staff. Is WS fun for you? If it isn't, what would you want to see done to make it more enjoyable?

It's kind of dull, but what could anyone really do to "bring it to life"? It just really depends on the community and people involved. WS is more of a hardcore discussion forum if anything, which is good if that's what you want. Generally with that type of trait, the forum will be a little dull, but it's better than some forums where you get one sentence replies. It's really a give or take.
That problem is the thought patterns of the forums members. Many are alike, and if not, they are too stubborn to debate it.
The previous also effects another portion, which is wanting to read the topics. I have actually read only three or four topics within the last week on this forum. Why? Because I don't even need to go in it to know the majority of it. And even if I did read more, I wouldn't read the posts. I could read the first post, and then look at the names afterwords and have a good idea what they would say.
Hell, the only reason I come anymore is to see what is going on in the SB, and seeing staff and others having fun in it.

I'm a fan of in depth debates, and conversation. It just seems that a lot of the threads discussed or created, are shallow and boring. I'm as guilty of creating boring threads, as almost anybody (remember the ftp thing?), but I enjoy discussion about serious issues. I like to sometimes debate politics, religion, science.
And this is a rarity every forum I've ever attended, but for once, I would love to have a serious, in depth real geek talk with someone.
A couple of months ago, I threw a party and a couple of the most well-known geeks that I know of, came by. I had a blast just sitting there for three or four hours, getting completely trashed and having a lengthy, interesting geek discussion. It hardly ever happens. And I agree with pretty much everything else said, this is a really good forum for wrestling discussion, but nothing more. Some of the members here are pretty... er.... "rolleyes". I belive Mike made a post a while ago listing what every member does, and nothing has really changed at all. All the off topic discussion has to be epic serious or you get told off and the thread gets closed (minus Ken's thread). I mean fuck, I got an infraction for posting "my threads were serious". Alot of the disscussion here is pretty mind-numbing too. I mean, divas discussion. Really? Fucking REALLY? To think that we have a 9 billion page thread full of "I think this girl is hot", "I agree she is hot", "I disagree she is overated" whilest the rest of the forum is sometimes as dead as Paul Newman (OH!) is fucking apalling.
Also, the forum has been alive for almost a year, which is actually a pretty good accomplishment socongrats on that I guess. And yet, there hasn't really been that much growth. I mean, yeah we have like 20 or so more active members but, I don't know about anyone else, but I would have thought there'd be more by this time. I don't know what the staff are doing to attract people to the forum or advertise it, but it doesn't seem like a lot. And no, that doesn't mean you should set up another news site....

Well at times I love this place and at times I don't. I think there is alot of good like the staff being a great asset, Ken helping everyone, Jim being epic serious and PY & Legend just chilling. Also most of the times this forum is epic fun and is sometimes my favorite site on the net. But then with the influx of the members some were great like Jim, Nex and many others but some just nit pick to much and intimidate and ridicule because they think there some forum badass (Mike, Paul & Steve up times). So overall I love this forum most of the time but sometimes topics go to one sided and some members conduct impact on people in the wrong way.
Will, you make the fatal mistake of taking stuff we say to heart. If you understood the concept of banter you'd be far better off >_>
