However, I am attending college to get a degree in both business and education, and I know many of my friends who already have children, so this got me to thinking about this topic.. What would you do in certain situations that your children get involved in? If your child was getting bullied at school? What would you tell them about sex? What would you do if you caught them with or around drugs or alcohol? How about the way your daughter dresses? I really have no clue how I'd handle some of these situations.. I think there are two important things that most parents aren't doing a good job on that I can see.. One, parents aren't explaining how important education is or stressing it enough when their children are at a young age.. I knwo they don't want to put a huge burden on these kids, but I know too many of my friends who are suffering now because they did really poor in school.. Of course, there are examples of people who didn't need education and have gone on to greatness but in my area it seems very important.. Even I wish I had done a lot better in high school then I did. Lastly, I think parents need to teach young boys to respect the opposite sex. It's frightening how many dudes are grwoing up these days with the most fucked up views when it comes to women.. I understand sometimes women can be difficult, haha.. but I still love them and respect them totally..

If you go to hard on them, they might rebel. IMO you have to be tough on them, but also realistic. At the end of the day I think its important to be a good parent, but sometimes the kid takes on his/ or her own destiny. ps i have no kids haha

I think it is important for a parent to teach a child proper motivations, and then let the child work towards it as they see fit.
