GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - - Shoppers at Family Fare and D&W Fresh Markets grocery stores in the Grand Rapids and Holland areas who spend $100 are being offered the chance to buy gasoline for 99 cents a gallon.
The promotion runs Sunday through Tuesday and is taking place at 30 supermarkets operated by Grand Rapids-based Spartan Stores Inc.
Shoppers will get a bar-coded receipt when they check out. The coupons must be redeemed by Thursday at one of 11 Quick Stop fuel centers. Stores not located near Quick Stop fuel centers are
excluded from the program.
AAA Michigan says the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gas is about $1.80 in the state.
Not a bad promotion pretty interesting. I'm sure some people will easily spend that anyway, so can't go wrong with that deal.
Giant Eagle here credits you 20 cents per $100 spent on groceries. By the time I need to fill up, I get gas below a dollar a gallon. Great marketing and in actuality, when I thought GE would increase prices or just be more than other grocery stores, they are less expensive than most. Definitely worth checking out.

We shop at Giant Eagle too. The last time we filled up gas, I believe we got it for 69 cents a gallon. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Spend so much in groceries get a fuel buck which is good for one free gallon of gas.
