To be honest I wouldn't mind some sort of southern union thing between South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Well I didn't really want to get into it, but if you insist...
It is for religous reasons.
The Bible talks of the world coming to one currency under one leader and that is just a step in that direction. I don't like it.
America is an independent nation and should remain such.
