Maybe I am mixing up my timelines here, but I am pretty sure the devil tempted Jesus before he was nailed to the cross and Jesus returned
Jesus was tempted by the devil while he was fasting in the wilderness.
So yeah that was before the crucifiction.

Hey, remember when I said I wasn't going to get into the ideological basis for this? That was my attempt at refraining from belittling you or your beliefs. I instead proposed a question of fundamental logic, which you have ignored.

Are you telling me that Jesus was alive during the time the moses lead the Jews to freedom?
Actually, that's what you suggested. I was saying the exact opposite....

The laws for humaity werent really written till the 10 commandments.
...so it's pretty clear now that the entire basis for your belief here is on a mixed up timeline. I'm really not sure what Bible you've been reading if you think Jesus was around during the Pharaohs. The Ten Commandments are clearly from the Old Testament.
I see where we are getting crossed, its the burning bush. I know that Jesus was dead before Moses freed the Jews, but I was under the assumption that the burning bush was the holy spirit.

lolwtf?
NO, he WASN'T dead before Moses freed the Jews. Jesus came much later. As sourced by the Bible, Moses and the Exodus were about 1500 years before Jesus was even born. The burning bush does represent the holy spirit, but that has nothing to do with chronological order of when things happened in the Bible. It's been mentioned multiple times now: Moses and his endeavors are from the Old Testament. Jesus' birth, life, and crucifixion occurred in the New Testament. You do understand that the Old Testament came first, right?
"we" were not getting crossed, you were just factually wrong.
Eh maybe youre right. I havent read the bible since the mid 80's, apologies.
lol, yeah, maybe....
It seems kind of strange not only that you'd try to have a serious discussion about a book you haven't read in over 20 years, but also that you'd have your beliefs founded on vast biblical inaccuracies that have apparently gone decades without being corrected. Thus, your whole theory on the exploitation of instincts and whatnot seems to be logically invalid, seeing as how it was based on these biblical inaccuracies and misinterpretations.
You'd don't need to apologize to me, but you might want to do a little reading here and there before you subscribe to a religion. Maybe I'm just too analytical, but I like to have some kind of foundation I can point to to back me up and assure me of my beliefs. You seem to be just kind of floating around on the edges of something loosely based on Christianity
The title of this thread makes my brain hurt. Atheists in heaven results in a cannot compute error. It just doesn't add up!
I feel that when you become an atheist, you can give up the idea of heaven, and therefore could never enter the gates of it.
I think the reason why people feel that other religions (including atheist) could enter heaven is because the role of religion has significantly decreased in most people's lives. As such, they don't take it as serious as older people, or those who grew up with it being a huge part of their life. In my opinion I think it's total hypocrisy. People claim to be religious, but the only religious action they take is attending church when it is convenient for them.
