Ghost stories

Has anyone got any?

Obviously, coming from an Irish family I have loads.

A particular favourite was a great uncle that returned on leave from serving in World War 2, he got back to their village in the very early hours and saw a friend of his sitting down having a smoke. They shared a cigarette, told each other a few stories about their experiences and then agreed to meet up for a drink in the pub at the weekend.

My uncle then went home, crept in since he didn't want to wake anyone, and then celebrated his return with his Mom and Dad when they woke up.

He told them a few stories and then when they asked what his plans were for the next few days, one of the things he mentioned was meeting up again with the guy he met last night for a few drinks.

His family then had to tell him that the young friend he'd met had not returned from the war as he had been killed six months earlier.

That is some weird shit. One of the friends of the family lived in a house that was supposedly haunted. Crazy shit would happen but they got used to it. I don't kno the details from them, but my Mom and Dad slept over their house and were warned ahead of time something weird might happen..

So, I don't know what to think cuz when you're told that you are going to look for shit.

I guess some kitchen cupboads flew open at night and swayed back and forth, they felt things touching them but nothing was there in bed with them, and a bathroom faucet came on full blast one time at night with no one in sight, and the faucets aren't easlity turned on..

Who knows what was happening in that house but the people moved away now and I don't even remember what town the house was in. I'll have to ask.

I lived in a haunted house for about four years.I lived in an apartement on the second floor with a huge attic on the 3rd floor which in the early 1900's was the servant quarters. One night me and my wife were hearing some weird shit coming from our bathroom in the way back of our apartment. There is a long hallway that goes back to the kitchen were the bathroom is.At the end of the hallway(before you reach the kitchen) is a door that has a staircase that brings you up to the attic. So when I went to the bathroom to check it out I found nothing. So i started leaving the bathroom heading back down the hallway. As I started walking I heard loud footsteps up in the attic following me.As I got to the doorway to the attic i heard footsteps fly down the stairs and stop right on the other side of the door.i was shitting my pants at this point. The door had a window on it but had a curtain.I wanted to look through the curtain but was to freaked out.So since I was freaked out I decided to go make sure the front door was locked. So i went down the hallway to the front of the house and there were no more footsteps above me going down the hallway. At the end of the hallway is a staircase on the left that leads down to the front door.I went down the stairs and checked the dorr still no footsteps. But as i headed back up the stairs the footsteps started again as I went up the stairs followning step by step. When i got back up to the hallway i went back to the door to the attic were the footsteps followed me again and came running down those stairs and stopped again on the other side of the door. Now I'm pooping my pants.I still couldn't get myself to pull back the curtain to check it out.So as a coward I run to livingroom to check if my wife heard the same things i did, which she did.So her and I didn't move from the livingroom the rest of the night and turn the volume of the t.v. up really loud.We didn't hear anymore noices the rest of the night. But the next morning we went down to the first floor were my 80 year old landlady lived(her whole life)and told her what happened. She told us that in the 1920's that one of the servants had died up there from an illness when she was a little girl. So for the rest of the time we lived there we heard a lot of weird shit up there and never went up there alone.

My church has it's share of Ghosts, like most places, I guess. The church itself is built on what used to be a cemetery. When we were younger, we used to have sleep overs at the church, and every now and again we'd hear weird things, and at one point, despite the church being securly locked up, and all us kids in one room, and accounted for, we heard two children laughing & playing in the next room, which was the main games hall. At other times we'd hear footsteps across balconies where nobody goes, and there are famous stories of ghostly figures in Voctorian dress, although I have never seen them, so I take those with a pinch of salt.

Interesting side bar going back to the burial ground under the church. We recently had new traffic lights put in on the junction on which the church sits. The workmen were digging up the road, and discovered a number of skeletal bodies. The police concluded that they had originally been buried under the church, but due to wet weather or subsidance or something, the corpses had slowly been slipping, underground, down the hill.
