All of these things you mention are from the old testament.
When Christ died on the cross a New Covenant was manifested which superseded the past Covenants in the old testament.
Does that mean that all of the Old Testament is voided because of the New Covenant?
No.
Is there a specific part that says what parts are and aren't voided?
No offense to anyone who believes strongly in the Bible and God's teachings..But I always saw the Bible to be riddled with contradictions and after all, it was written by man. Any man could say they were told by a higher power to write a book..Is that not what happened with the Koran and all other holy books? The Muslims say the Christians are wrong..The Christians say the Muslims are wrong..
What makes one book wrong and the other right?
Why believe one and not the other? Because one sounds more appealing to you than the other and is more commonly practiced in the native area you live in?

I am not going to get into a full on discussion on this with non-believers because that will go no where.
This is another thing that goes with having faith. If everyone knew that the Bible was true word of God would there be any free will involved?
Man was given free will for a reason and there is a wrong decision.

I'm open to the concept of religion but personally I do not believe in it.
Science is far more reliable than something that is read in a book and until something is scientifically proven about the afterlife I will be open minded.

care to share what parts contradict themselves? People always try to bring that up but cant seem to back it up.

My views are similar to that of Suffy's. I am a catholic and I beleive in god, but that doesn't stop me from drinking and doing other things. I beleive if you are a good person you will go to heaven.
But what do most people mean by heaven? a place where souls live like humans? I'm not sure what it is, but a logical way to explain it could be that when your life flashes before your eyes just before you die, you look back on the way you way you lived your life and if you have been a good person you would be happy and being your last feeling, it could be an eternal feeling of happiness, which could be considered heaven.
And obviously it would be the opposite for Hell.

No. I believe in science. With the Large Hadron Collider turning on in Spring, I'm confident it will prove the Big Bang theory. The idea of a dude with a white beard in the sky creating everything is absurd to me. As for the after death part, it will probably feel just like sleeping minus the dreams or nightmares.
I cant say I do believe in the afterlife just because when you think about it I cant see how it is possible. If there was scientific proof of the afterlife I would believe it but until there is I dont believe in it.
I'm open to the concept of it but in all honesty I dont believe in it.
Caution: Religious posters might find some of the following points and opinions offensive, I however tend to believe that the subject of religion should be open to such criticism in todays day and age.
I have as much belief in an afterlife as I do in dragons and unicorns... I don't believe in one at all. God, Christianity and all religions were created by primitive, dumb, scared human beings in an attempt to explain things that early man couldn't. The Bible or any 'holy book' for that matter is not the word of God… its the word of humans who used God as a tool to express their own personal beliefs and quell a narrow minded and afraid culture. Although religion once had use before modern science had been developed, it now has virtually no use and has become nothing more than a roadblock for evolving society. Humanity needs to abandon its primitive inhibitions and pursue what really should be - the truth of knowledge.
Every human who has ever lived, started life as an atheist. Religion was taught to them by their parents and or community. No one actually needs an excuse to move away from religion (like I have done after being raised Catholic and attending deeply religious primary and secondary schools), just common sense and an understanding that religion is not necessary for moral guidance, explanations of how we came to be, or what happens after death.
I live my life like it's my first and last.. belief in something as fairytale like as an afterlife and spending my entire life trying to impress this myth called God seems like such a waste of a life to me. Even if an infinite, superior, all powerfull being such as a God did infact exist .. lets say the Christian depiction of God, the idea of leading such a strict and cautious life in order to impress him so we could then go to heaven and proceed to praise him for all eternity is pointless to me. God created man on Earth with the hope they would acknowledge his existence, abide by his rules and praise him during their lives JUST so they could come meet him in heaven and continue to praise him for all eternity? And if for whatever reason a person chose not to believe in him he would have them tortured for all eternity in a place called hell? Seems pretty fuckin shitty either way to me... praise this egotistical, controlling, unforgiving, evil person we read about in the bible forever or be tortured forever by someone else called Satan who apparently is also evil.
I go by the notion that this is life.. this is it, we have no sufficient evidence or reason to believe we will get another shot at it in any way.. so live it to the max.. and when you die that's it. I'll be like I was the year before I was born.. nothing. It took me a while having been brought up in the religious evironment that I have to come to accept something like that. And also because all we know is what its like to be alive.. its all we can comprehend in our minds, death and ceasing to exist seems like such a terrible and scary thing because its the unkown ... people like the idea of an afterlife and choose to believe in it because the thought of living forever in some form is what we all wish we could do...but its all just that, wishfull thinking. Wishfull thinking in something that has as much credibility as the existence of fairies.
