imo, people don't need god or religion to become better people or to have morals. im agnostic, and i have a borderline hatred for religion. it's really nature vs nurture. kids who are born to parents that don't have any education, and aren't very bright tend to grow up like that.
i was born into a christian family, was a christian for many years (until i reached the age of reason), and i consider myself hard working, honest, and a nice man. i didn't need religion to turn out like this. my parents raised me like a million bucks and i appreciate everything they've done for me. i don't lie, i don't steal, i'm fairly generous to many people, and an all around nice guy. but at the same token, i don't take shit from anybody (disrespect), and i get irritated easily.
hell, tbh i find most religion has a negative impact on peoples lives, even if they don't see it.

Religion does alot of good to alot of people in certain parts of the world, you just won't hear or see it much because people always talk about negatives more than positives.
Religion isn't the problem, it's the individual. But of course once again we have to find something to place the blame on.
