I think people are becoming worse. I am agnostic I believe in many religions, I still believe in God though, God has a lot of wisdom, thats what I think todays society is lacking, wisdom. I know that I am in this world for one reason, to make up for my sins, and to enjoy my life and to die with no later regrets. I think that we should all listen to what others have to say, we should also help each other out. Sometimes we also have to make sacrifices the way God did. Love your enemies no matter how much they hate you too, just like god. WWJD.
That's not what Agnostic is. So yea...you're not agnostic and don't live up to your wisdom idea.

What I meant to say was that I am agnostic but I still believe in god to a small degree, and what I was also trying to say was that people lack wisdom.
1. a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.
2. a person who denies or doubts the possibility of ultimate knowledge in some area of study.

In my honest opinion, people are getting a lot worse and keep in mind this is only what I have observed around my part of the world... it may vary from everyone elses. In the past few years I have been noticing a change what parents are teaching their children. Instead of teaching children to be honest with people parents are actually teaching children how to lie and backstab people to get ahead.
I have even seen some children being taught how to break into peoples homes and to sell drugs from the parents and other elders.
Its actually getting a lot worse around here with some of the plants and factories closing down with people losing their jobs.
I'll set an example, because I think people are the same it's just more obvious now.
Rome circa 200 AD.
A poor family has a get he gets to be around 5, to feed family they must steal, Dad teaches kid to steal fruit from stand, bam presto food for supper.
Kid is being taught to steal that is a no no and this stuff happened all the time back in all parts of history, women used to be stoned to death regularly. In most parts of the world we have done away with that.
We generally intervene when we see massive human rights abuse.
I think we are relatively the same just way more informed on the day to day happenings of everyone.

Are we getting better or worse? Much, much worse, of course.
Why? There are a number of reasons.
Firstly, parents don't spend time with kids any more. They expect the schools to raise them, teach them everything, punish them (which they won't, of course do). When they DO have time with their kids, they take the "do as I say, not as I do" approach, with double standards, etc.
Secondly, the government has taken away any and all punishments that would be effective, in the interest of so called 'abuse'. Spanking a child is good, and not abuse (unless you overdo it), but parents are so afraid to punish their child they let them get away with murder.
Thirdly, the child is taught no respect, whatsoever. The parents may SAY 'respect your elders', etc, but clearly show a lack of this when in front of children.
This has been going on for years now, and it's going to get really ugly in a generation or two when our children's children's children are going to be taught these same ugly values.
Unfortunately, there really isn't a lot of hope for society, at least those in the U.S. parts.
I still say I'd rather have a child with little respect, than my government being allowed to crucify me along public roads in order for everyone to see.
That is one example.
What about when the entire world thought slavery was ok.
The Roman Colleseum.
I'm sorry but kids not having respect (one could argue it's because they are more aware) is a lot better than when people cheered for a man being eaten by a lion.
