For those that are unfamiliar, Tom Bradley whom this political term is named after, was an African-American man running for governor in California in the 1980's. Despite being ahead in seemingly every voter poll, come election day he suffered a narrow loss to his white opponent.
The theory is that in a race pitting a white person versus a black or non-white candidate, people will say they are undecided or likely to vote for the minority candidate in fear of being labeled a racist but show their true colors on election day.
After witnessing some of the completely out of touch, extreme, and racist McCain followers these past few days.. I still believe this nation may not have progressed as much as we'd like to think.
What people do once they get in the polling booth is different sometimes than what they might say.

Yes, I've spoken about this before. I think, in public, people like what Barack Obama says. But then when you get them in an anonymous/private setting, they have that deep down concern over his muslim ties, over him being black ... etc.
It's like a racist joke. You'd never tell one in public, but once you have a bit of privacy, you let 'em loose.

lul @ topic
But to be serious, no, I'm not worried about it. There are so many minorities and so many younger people who are...lets call it less-bigoted than the generations in front of them, who will be first time voters, that I think it will cancel out any potential "Bradley Effect". What not a lot of people are talking about is the "Reverse Bradley Effect" which suggests that people don't want to admit that they would consider voting for a black person, but that they will end up doing so in their own financial interest.
I think both of these potential "effects" really won't have much impact on a presidential election, and that they're just two more examples of non-stories that the media likes to prop up when there's really not much else to talk about.

I am concerned because in the past young voters registered, but didn't really show up on election day. The elderly have a very high voter turnout percentage and the elderly are more likely to be racist.
I just hope those young voters finally put the damn video game controller down and realize that voting does matter. It is looking promising that this will finally happen. All it took was an unjust war, a ruined economy, the devaluation of the dollar, & a huge rise in gas prices for it to happen. Most definetely not. Obama's got this one in the bag.
Without the shadow of a doubt.
I'll bet my goddamn cock and balls (as of today) that Obama's gonna win.

It's always a possibility I suppose but I don't think that it's a reality really. I think he has a large following of 'true' supporters that will get out and vote.
If not though, Vice President Palin just might be enough to sustain SNL for another four years.
America should make voting compulsory like it is in Australia. I know you will get a lot of voters who don't care, but atleat you will get more of the nations opinion, rather than the opinion of those who can be bothered voting.

Like make voting mandatory?
That would be a horrible idea. Stupid people shouldn't be allowed to vote.
