I'm with the other guy that Jesus is gonna come.
He's gonna come with a big ole can of whoop ass.
Who can blame Him?
We've made quite a mess of things.
Sure he is. Just like he came back to life and had an old man construct a massive boat and get every type of animal genus and species on it, stay on it, not kill eachother, while a scientifically impossible event of filling the earth up with more water than there is to fill it with, and not showing any signs of it in the layers of the earth.
This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper

And this is where I stop visiting this thread. Because it is going to start going in circles.

Vayne you realize most religious men and women (who aren't stupid evangelicals) will tell you that you shouldn't take the old testament as truth. It is a message that you shouldn't fuck with God basically but it didn't actually happen.
I'll say it, only morons believe anything in the old testament is true (the crazy stories like the 10 plagues, and Noah's ark).
I know I've said it a 1000 times but I went to a catholic high school and have had very intense conversations with 7 jesuit priests, now a jesuit devotes his life to higher learning (like these guys can all speak like 7 languages) and each one will tell you the old testament is a story to teach a lesson not fact.

I will just say this and quickly exit this thread as I have no desire to debate this.
The Bible is based on faith. If it was all a known fact, everyone would be a follower of Christ. The true believers seek confirmation of a higher power and find it. The non-believers demand proof and in the process lose what they seek.
You have to believe.

I don't want to get into this either, and Dak I've been impressed by how diplomatic you've seemed lately, but this is one of my most-hated generalizations made by religious people about non-religious people.
To say I, personally, "demand" anything like that is ludicrous. In fact, it's the exact opposite -- more of an absence in me than anything. I dated a Christian girl for over three years, and it got to the point where whenever she'd want to talk about religion, I'd have to stop her, because it's not fair to either of us: on one hand, it's something she's incredibly passionate about, and all the power to her if it makes her feel good; but at the same time, just because I personally lack that passion/desire, it's like I'm dismissing or insulting her and her faith, even though that couldn't be further from the truth.
Sorry for the mini-rant, I just can't stand when people assume I'm some kind of God-hater just because I don't believe. I'm not anything at all, it's just not there.

I understand what you are saying. I grouped all non-believers into one group and that is not right.
The people to who I was referring are the ones who want proof that God exists.
God gave everyone free will. We can choose to seek God, or not. If there was proof, there would be no free will.

Why is it you believe what that book says to be fact? I just want to know how anyone can lay so much blind faith in something they have no basis to believe in if they use common knowledge.
If a certain large mass of people believe it to be fact, is it?
Almost all the worlds population thought the world to be flat, until proved otherwise.
I'm not trying to diss your beliefs, I'm just saying isn't it a bit more logical to question something rather than blindly believe it?
