The three key manifesto points
Over here, in jolly ol' England, our Conservative party have pledged to freeze council tax for two years if they win the next general election.
To many people this could be a significant vote decider/changer.
Question here is, purely for selfish reasons, what three things could a political party add to their manifesto that would convince you to vote for them....particularly if it's a party that you fundamentally would not ordinarily vote for?

Re: The three key manifesto points
...if it's a party I would not fundamentally vote for, then there are no sweeteners that could convince me to vote for it. I may be in the political/philosophical minority (which I usually am), but I happen to have strong ideological convictions and fundamental beliefs that can't just be marginalized into oblivion by some political stunt.

To be fair though, you're American, and over there there tends to be a much clearer divide between the Republicans and the Democrats.
In England, there's just no real gap between Labour and the Conservatives. Both now tend to be sat closer to the middle than the Liberal Democrats.
I don't agree with either party, so I tend to vote for someone like Respect, which is essentially me wasting my vote, but still allowing me the right to complain and have my say.
Given the right incentives, though, I could be encouraged to vote for a real party. Particularly if they agreed to let Scotland completely govern itself, since I need never have to worry about jowelly Thatcher loving Brown stepping foot in the cabinet again.
I still maintain that the last thing Tony Blair should have done before his resignation would have been to liberate Scotland, and completely screw Brown over.

You did read the part about me usually being in the political minority, right?
My nationality is completely irrelevant to my disposition. There is more of a divide between the two here, but I identify with neither, so again, irrelevant.

Well how the flip do I know what the political minority is in the state you live in? For all I know, 91% of your town's population could vote Democrat, but you're a Republican man? If you vote for one of the independant parties, am I supposed to guess that because you say "I'm in the political minority"?

There are not really only three things that would make me vote for a political party. But I will go along with the topic and list three that are important to me.
1. Withdrawal from Iraq A.S.A.P.
2. A huge cut in governmental spending so maybe we can start paying back some of our debts.
3. A more open attitude to diplomacy.

Not what I meant by minority.
I meant that on fundamental issues, I don't fluctuate based on bullshit bribes and compromises which politicians often propose, unlike most of the country (unlike most = minority, rit?).
As I explained before, I don't identify with either political party, or any other party (independent party included) either, so your citation of the U.S. being more divided really serves no pertinence in your frank dismissal of my response.
No, you shouldn't have to guess anything, seeing as how I explained myself fairly clearly. My response to this thread's prompt had nothing to do with how people in my town vote. If you can't tell yet, I'm trying to downplay the significance you placed on American political parties, because it truly has no bearing in my case.
If one of the candidates came up to me with a chocolate bar and said you can have this if you vote for me, I'd vote for him.
Then again if the other party came up to me with two chocolate bars and said the same thing I'd vote for them.
It's a deadly cycle but it works.
That is what happens in W.V. except the chocolate bar is whiskey and gravel for their driveway.
