My friends and I joined a kickball league this fall, how sweet is that?!?!
It's a 14 game schedule played in double headers once a week. They actually have called balls and strikes in it. I had no clue that was possible. But if you bounce the ball higher than a foot or the ball travels more than it's width to the left or right of home plate, that's a ball.
We'll get matching t-shirts and 50% off drinks after the games..huzzah!!!!
Time to go get my kick on.
Anyone else here ever played in a kickball league?
Haven't played but I was joking with a friend of mine that said he was playing kickball on his myspace page. I find it pretty funny to hear about adults playing a game we used to play back in elementary school. Then one day at a baseball practice, we wrapped up and a bunch of students from Mount St. Mary's University came over and started playing. We joined them for a little bit and I have to say we had a pretty good time. We didn't play by those types of rules but it was still fun.
Back in sixth grade we had a school wide tournament. I kicked a grand slam in a game to give us the win, and when they did the boxscore of the game over the PA, they prounounced my name wrong :\.

Have people called you by the mispronunciation ever since then? Because that's what I'd do.
I once had a friend whose last name was Heyman. I always called him Hymen as a joke, thinking it would anger him. Apparently that's how you were supposed to pronounce his name and everyone else was getting it wrong.
Nah, they just called me Cody instead of Cory. I get that all the time anyway. It just made me sad that my leet heroics weren't going to be properly recognized. I retired after that v_v.

Some of my friends are in a whiffle ball league.. but I wasn't interested. I played baseball in high school, and though I loved it.. I was never into things like softball of whiffle ball. I want to play the real thing and nobody does that around here..
