I generally dislike the majority of the human race.
I agree whole-heartedly

Personally, I love hanging out with big groups of people. We have a tight group of friends, most of which are couples so that helps, around 12-16 people that hang out (sometimes in the entire group, sometimes in "sub groups") every weekend. In two weeks is our big Labor Day Holiday weekend extravaganza where we all rent cabins up at the lake. The guys get drunk and play cards all day while the women go into town and shop all the time. Then at night we all sit around the bombfire and bullshit the night away before waking up and doing it all over again the next day.
I love hanging out in larger groups because it gives you more to talk about and more options. I find that sometimes in only a double date for instance, conversations can die down because you have a limited number of topics (the other two people and you only have certain things you mutually enjoy discussing), while if you're in a bigger group you go talk to Jenny about some tv show, then to Bob about football, then to Carla about window treatments.
I'm like Jay. Don't get me wrong, I like hanging out in small groups as well, but it has to depend on the people. Like if it's my friends Bill and Corey, we could talk all night. Same with a couple other people. But I still like the larger parties as well; infact, I get social ADD at them, where I have to talk to EVERYONE.
See for me if I'm around like 2-3 people I talk more.
Last night I went to my friends house for her birthday because she wasn't doing anything (she needed the night off, Olympic caliber athlete in a few years they are busy folk)
But we just talked for like 2-3 hours easily, it's easy between myself and her. My other best friend we can just talk for hours no problem. But you put me in a group of like 10 people I got nothing to say.

I'm okay in the majority of social settings, as I tend to be fairly outgoing and normal. There are two major exceptions though.
The first is when I try to make small talk with costumers at work. I have no idea why it is, but I can't stop myself from saying the lamest, most non-sensical shit ever. Most of the time I am fairly quiet and only say the prerequsite phrases to them, ("How are you, sir? Have a nice round of golf"), but every so often I will get ambitious and try to carry on a small conversation, which is always a guaranteed disaster. My coworkers think it is hilarious. For example today I busted out, "Oh, your credit card has a picture of the moon on it. That's cool. Do you like the moon? I'm a fan of space, in general. And not just like Star Wars stuff, though I like that too..."
In my head I am just screaming at myself to shut up, or begging the dude to interupt me and end the conversation. Usually they just stare at me in bewilderment.
The second is when I try to chat to guy I am interested in, who I wasn't friends with to begin with. I have absolutly no idea how to carry on a conversation, so I usually just choose to avoid it. When I do try and make conversation, I simply fail.
This is probably why I will never end up dating anyone again, ever.
^Lawl I'm the same way. When I try to talk to someone I don't really know at work I end up saying something really stupid. So I eventually just shut up and continue bagging their groceries :\.
Although, yesterday some old chick gave me one of those Church books that they hand out. She told me she had something for me to read so I nodded and then tossed it in the trash when she walked out.
