Who is to look after the 1.3 million abortions if they were babies? There are too many horrible parents out there raising criminals as it is, all we need is 1.3 million more babies to worry about!
I once said I was anti-abortion, and theoretically still am. Up until I slept with this one girl (in a drunken stupor!). Two weeks later she was afraid she was pregnant, obviously too late for the morning after pill. At that time I was seriously thinking my only solution was to suggest her having an abortion. Luckily she wasn't ever pregnant, and I try to forget that the whole scenario ever happened.
Sadly, it wasn't so much of the fact that I had a problem with having kids. I had a problem with having kids WITH HER.
It's really hard to sleep BTW when those kind of thoughts continuously take over your brain.

How about this? Don't have sex with someone you don't want to have a baby with.
Simple.
I have no sympathy for people like that. You sleep around, you deserve what you get.

I am totally against abortion but there is a big problem with banning it all together. I think partial birth abortion should always be illegal. As for other abortions it gets complicated. I don't like the idea of it being used as birth control. However, there is no way you can make a law that it is only acceptable for rape because people would lie.
When it comes down to it I stand for State's Rights. That is what I am all about as you all should know by now. I think each individual state should be able to decide whether it will be legal or not. I feel the same about gay marraige. The Federal government needs to stay out of our busniess and let the State's decide these issues as was always intended by the Founders of this great country.

er...no, that wasn't the logic I was applying at all. It was merely a question of fact. You haven't legally been born until you have left the womb (and this is why I asked in the prompt if you consider this a moral question or a legal question, but you've kind of blurred the line here).
Simply answering your question of whether or not we consider someone alive when their heart starts beating: no, we don't (with we being the United States).

Someone can be charged with two murders if they murder a pregnant woman....
