What's the point in having an Internet connection if you're not using it to look up weird, fucked-up pictures of dirty sex you'll never have yourself?
that side of me rarely shows up on here. Actually, I'm not sure I would say I'm smaht or intelligent or anything.. that kind of thing seems subjective. I suppose I'm good at what I do..
I got a handwritten rejection letter from The New Yorker about six months after sending them a short story. They say explicitly on their website not to send postage or an evelope because they won't notify you of a rejection, but someone on their editorial board took the time to write me eight of the most encouraging lines of feedback I've ever received, AND pay the postage on it.
The last two lines say, "Keep Writing. You're Good."
I know it's still a rejection, but I was completely floored. The New Yorker is seriously like the holy grail of short fiction. It's sitting in a frame on my desk now.
Blitzie .. your smart roll with it... and the fact that the mayor took the time to send out letters to the deans list of your school is really amazing... it shows that ppl in semi high places to take notice of their community!!

I'm not trying to be rude, but I find it hilarious that you framed a rejection letter.
