First off, it's a low-limit, loose game, so people are more willing to call you if you raise. So, you expect that if you raise, most of the other 5 players will call again, unless the initial raiser re-raises (with a king, pocket Aces, or a flush draw, perhaps) Then, on the turn and river, if anybody bets, you can raise again. Or, you can just bet and hope that people call. Since it's a low-limit game, and the players probably aren't that good, you can be confident that at least a few players will check and call. However, if you raise, you may not get the initial bets on the turn and river, and that will make the pot smaller. Thus, if you wait until the turn or river to raise, then you might be able to boost the pot up. I would raise right then and there. Since the game is loose, you can expect people to keep calling you, so you'll still be able to build the pot up. also, let's say somebody else catches a perfect hand for them (say, a third K making a full house, or a flush card) you may get someone to reraise you on the turn or river, in which you can reraise again. So, I say raise.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | I hit Quads 2 days ago at the casino lol. Game was wild and everyone was rasing blind. I have AA lol. Flop comes A 6 4, two clubs. Turn A. River 3. The guy had 5 2 off lol. I made 3 bets on the river too. The pot was around $250. I was just playing 5/10. When that A fell on the turn I got a boner ![]() |

Rep Power: 42 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is probably the best poker story I have. One day me and my friends are playing, and it's heads up at the river. One guy bets big, and the other guy folds. On the board was a 2345x. The folder says, "Did you have the straight?", and the guy flips over his Ace to show he had a straight. So, the folder flips over 4 2 off-suit, and he's like "phew, I'm glad I folded that two pair". And then we're like, "Why the hell did you play 4 2 off-suit in the first place?" and he starts telling this story... "So, I was in Vegas, and I got dealt 4 2 off-suit in the big blind. There were no raisers, so I got a free look at the flop. I caught a set of 4's on the flop, but this other guy had a flush draw. The turn card gave him his flush, but it also paired my two, giving me a full house. He checked, I bet big, he raised huge, I went all-in, he called, and I won the pot and a huge hand. Ever since then, I ALWAYS play 4 2, unless there's a big pre-flop raise" Next hand, the flop comes down 422. I look at my friend and say "There's your 4 2". The guy who won the previous hand this time had A5, so he has an inside straight draw. He catches a 3 on the turn, making the same wheel straight. Eventually the pot gets huge (I think somebody went all-in), and my friend turns over his A5 showing his straight. Then, my other friend proudly turns over his cards: 42, and we all burst out screaming and laughing and falling out of our chairs. That was probably the most fun hand of poker I've ever been involved in

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | The answer is RAISE. The all field already called and you should always try and get your money on the flop. Also it's a loose game, so most likely people will give you action. The funny thing is, people even if they have absolutely nothing, tend to always pay on the flop. ALWAYS GET YOUR MONEY ON THE FLOP, thats the best advice I can give anyone who's learning the game. |
