CD's are pointless to buy, only like 10 cents from every cd actually goes to the band the rest goes to the record company and the sweat shop laborers.

Bands make their money on merch, concerts and selling their songs for advertising.

the only things i really buy are blurays of movies i really like(i only own like 3) and then video games, pretty much everything else i download for freezy

I buy mostly DVD's (all kinds), occasionally video games and rarely CDs.

For DVD's, I don't buy, I rent. I'm on Blockbuster's program and can rent 2 DVD's at a time. That includes tv shows, too. before, I used to rent one, and not get around to watching it until a week later, at which point it would be "past due" and I'd owe an extra fee. F' that. I rarely buy DVD's. If someone buys me one for a birthday present or something, I'll keep it if it's a good movie. Once in a great while I'll actually look at my small DVD library and watch one.

For music, I never bought CD's, even as a kid. I think I seriously own about 6 CD's, one of which include MC Hammer's album with "Hammer Time", LOL. Goes to show you how often I bought them. I was never much into music, I will just listen to whatevers on the radio. I listen to sports talk now more anyway. But I do have an i-pod, so if I like something I hear, I'll get it off I-tunes.

I still go to the theatre because it's a fun night out with friends and some movies you just gotta see on the big screen.

With video games, I'll keep my old systems because, someday I want to show my kids what a regular nintendo was and tell them "If you want to play a game, blow into the cartridge first". Haha, and then laugh in the corner as they get pissed off because it won't read the game.

I was surprised when I started getting old. I always thought it was one of those things that would happen to someone else.

I sold all my cds on EBay a couple of years ago and havent bought another one since, I dont even own a CD player anymore. But I love music and couldnt live without my Ipod - it goes everywhere with me and whenever I hear a new song I like, I download it and put it on. Dont pay for anything.

But, I have a small obsession with DVDs and am baffled to hear you all say you never watch them more then once. I have over a 100 and yes, I agree that eventually they will become useless but I get some kind of weird pleasure seeing them all lined up on my shelf.

I download all my anime and music. I actually want to buy anime DVD's though but they are very expensive. More so than American boxed sets of sitcoms and the likes.

I rent DVD's (and tape them on my PC if they're good) and download music through Itunes.

So yes I do pay for my entertainment, but not nearly as much as I would if I was buying CD's and DVD's as much as I did.

It leaves me more money to buy the ribbed variety. They're for her pleasure.
