Re: Gas prices

Don't get me started on gas prices, there is a strike currently going on at one of the big refinerys in scotland which has forced the prices up at the moment.

I'm glad i filled up before this happened.

I was have always heard that you just get less gas mileage and diminished performance out of lower grade gas in cars that recommend premium. I have never heard that it could damage them.

Yeah, I have always heard that you can put 89 grade gas in vehicles that 87 is recommended from time to time to get an increase in performance with no problems.

93 grade is a waste in cars that 87 is recommended for.

Re: Gas prices

WHAT?! You've never heard of knock retard/pre-detonation or pre-ignition? They're probably two of the worst things that you can have happen in your engine. The only thing worse would be running it without oil.

Never heard of it and I have ran 87 grade in my SHO for over a year with no problems.

Not gonna happen.

If you could only run 93 grade in a car it wouldn't say 93 recommended, it would say 93 only.

Re: Gas prices

1.25 but that is also in liters like it costs me...50 bucks to fill 3/4 of a tank on my very efficient 97 Acura.

Re: Gas prices

About $3.58 around here.

I have a Trailblazer, and that thing just sucks gas. Ugh.

Yeah, I have a Jeep Cherokee. It's like $70 to fill the Jeep, and it only gets like 18-20 MPG. Luckily I also have a Honda Accord!

Re: Gas prices

I don't get why people even bother to buy things like Trailblazers in the first place...it's not like they are good for hauling anything unlike a good ole truck. It's just a waste of money but a nice car that saves you money on gas.

Big SUVS and hummers and people who buy trucks but don't even need a truck are such stupid purchases, get a car, if you do that gas prices will lower somewhat (even if it's just a little) because we aren't wasting so much on gas.

And while I'm not 100% sure if Nafta does get cancelled...america is in for a massive shortage espicially if the liberals (our version of the democratics) get in.
