To answer the second part of the question, will it stimulate the economy?

In a pseudo short term type of way. It just creates a bull market. Eventually we'll find ourselves in the same position.

People paying off their bills does actually help the economy. It just 'trickles' down a lot more molasses like, than like a morning water fall. Debt collectors will get larger bonus', companies will have to hire short term employee's, but most importantly, it frees up spending power of those who just paid their bills off.

It will not help the economy. The only thing that will stimulate the economy is to quit wasting money in Iraq.

Damn Republicans and there trickle down economics. Worst thing that ever happened to this country was Ronald Reagan getting elected....

Well, what ever I do get back I will place it in my bank account. This really helps considering that I had several unexpected expenses come up lately. Which included finally getting my truck out of the shop which damn near $400.

In response to the second question.... I really don't see it doing very much to help stimulate the economy. I mean even if everyone who gets back the $300-600 checks does in fact use them to pay off their bills or possibly even investing in some type of CD, IRA, or Stock it won't make a very huge impact. Especially considering the fact that the cost of oil is almost $120 a barrel and the cost of food has risen almost four percent in the recent months....
