Re: Overly helpful sales people

yea I agree with that, I hate it also, when I was working at omx, I just asked if they needed help, if they said no, I let em go without anymore questions, thats why I think it isnt so bad being asked if you need help or not.

Re: Overly helpful sales people

I think you just need to pick your moment. LIke in restaurants, people always ask me if everything is okay the minute I have a mouthful, ol!

Re: Overly helpful sales people

I applied for Office Max while in college. During the interview, they told me how they all wear earpieces and they use those to communicate with other employees. If someone sees a customer not being helped, you were supposed to talk into your mouthpiece and alert the store (via their earpieces) about it and whoever wasn't busy was supposed to rush over to them.

Also, if a manager saw you helping a sales person out, they were well within their right to speak into your earpiece to remind you to sell them extra printer paper, or pens, or whatever else.

I walked out of the interview.

Re: Overly helpful sales people

I work at Dollar General and they want us to greet every person that comes in the door, then when they get ready to check out we have items on the register they we are supposed to try and "suggestive sale" to them and then we are supposed to ask them to donate to the Literacy Fund on top of all of that.

I don't do any of it.

I'm a good old rebel,
Now thats just what I am,
And for this Yankee nation,
I do not give a damn.
I'm glad we fought against her,
I only wish we'd won.
I ain't asking any pardon for anything we've done.
