I got played.
So, I'm going out with this girl for the third time today. We went out last Saturday, this Friday, and again tonight. She was cool; I didn't know how far it would go, because she wasn't the perfect fit, but it was something I could work with for now. After going out to eat, we went to the bar with couple of friends of mine, and we're having a good time. I go to the bathroom, come back, and unintentionally walk up behind her while she's texting someone. I see that it's her ex-boyfriend, so I look closer and clearly they were in mid-conversation, as the text was something like "Lets go out tomorrow and talk."

I told her I saw it, and asked her what was up. She admitted she wasn't quite over her ex-boyfriend. And thats when I closed out the bar tab, and we went home. There won't be a fourth date.

At least total I only spent like $100 on the girl.

On a more humorous (intentionally spelt that way) note I saw some guy who looked EXACTLY like Freak, maybe a little taller. I snuck a picture in, but the guy looks like he has two heads, and I can't figure out how to get it off my phone.

We were sitting at the bar, so when I came back from the bathroom she had out her phone texting. It's not as if I grabbed her phone to read it them, I just sort of saw it.

Well, that's not so bad is it? At least you realized what was going on before you invested too much in her. How bad would it have been to date her for a few months and then find out?

It's not as if they were married....the trust isn't there yet and there's still a lot of questions. I don't think reading her texts was a HUGE deal. If anything, Terry may have been wondering "I wonder if she's texting a friend about me...how she feels about me, etc.." It's natural to be curious.

But like you said, at least you didn't invest too much into this girl by the time you found this out. She was probably just looking for a distraction from her ex-b/f for a while.

I don't really feel bad for Terry b/c he himself admitted she wasn't right, but that he was essentially dating her out of boredom. Can't expect much more out of her.
Also, if it were me, I wouldn't have picked up her tab on the 3rd date after catching her texting the ex. But I wouldn't read someone's texts either, so I might have gotten suckered into a 4th date and then found out later that she started sleeping w/ the guy again.
